I have very curly hair and so i usually straighten it, i have a Con-air straightener that was about 30 bucks. I need a good referense for a straightener that leaves your hair straight and non frizzy even in hot weather. I'd really like to be able to leave my hair down after i straighten it. I have heard alot about the Chi straighteners but im not sure if they are really that much better, do you have any secrets??? And i was also wondering if you use products or not and if so what are they? And i dont want to spend a fortune on a straightener

Don't straighten your hair all the time! You are going to dry out and ruin your hair! be happy with what God gave you and keep it curly. I'm sure it looks fine while it is not straight. you can straighten it once in a while if you want. be happy with what you have.I have curly hair and I have straightened my hair 2 times in my life. Hope this helps.

See if your friends have different straighteners/products and test out the products. That is your best best without spending a fortune.

I have used a lot of different straitens, but I am partial to my CHI. For me, it's easy to use and maneuver and does not weigh a ton after using it for 15 minutes.

Hair products I have used:

Redkin - I like these the best (for straight and curly). My hair was neither oily or dry. It looked healthy and had no frizzes.

Chi - No frizzes what-so-ever. My hair smelled the same at all times.

Frizzease - Worked well, I liked the way it smelled but I think it didn't mix with me.

Paratin Shine serum - Smells good, can use on body.

Biolage Shine serum - Smells good, can use on body.

Straightline/Thermal Defense by Lanza - This made my hair hella straight. Decent smell and did not frizz up in the rain.

Always use something on your hair to protect it, otherwise the damage will be a lot worse.

Good luck.

Chi products are great but they are expensive. They work very well on my curly hair. One thing I've found helpful in humidity is the protective sprays. Chi makes a really great one called Iron Guard but you can also get good ones from V05, Got 2B & others.

Yes, the Chi is very good. It might cost a lot but it is worth it. If you go to a store and get it, it will cost a lot more than just going to Amazon. Here is the site:http://www.amazon.com/o/ASIN/B0009V1YS2/ref=s9_asin_title_1-1966_p/103-6097507-2341429?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=08E5FW54NDXBQPCMSQG4&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=288448501&pf_rd_i=507846
The 2 inch is for thick hair mainly.
There are some Chi products as well:

I have also heard a lot about the Bed Head products:

Chi is very good. A lot of people on Answers have been saying it, a lot of people in real life and even my hair stylist.
And you can try sunsilk, it has an anti-poof or frizz in a pink bottle.
