I'm trying to find the latest statistics on Army discharges. Anything from honorably to dishonorable discharges. Can anyone offer any insight or links maybe?

I am not sure that those statistics are readily available. The most numbers should be available, but each service members record is personal information.

Most should be honorable discharges, as nobody wants to have any other kind.

Seattle Times Jan 1 2014 -
More than 20,000 men and women exited the Army and Marines during the past four years with other-than-honorable discharges that can restrict their veterans health-care and disability benefits. Critics says those rules leave some troubled combat veterans struggling to find treatment and support.

There is no automatic review for service members who were diagnosed and in treatment for PTSD or TBI concurrent with PTSD before their discharge. In many cases appeals are pending citing the behavioral problems which are service connected.

Then there is the illegal discharg for Personality Disorder instead of PTSD. The VA and services consider Personality Disorder a pre-existing condition and thus not eligible for benefits or treatment in the VA.

Yale Law Study for government showed -
The Department of Defense, Freedom Of Information Act documents show that from Fiscal Year 2001 to FY 2010, the military separated more than 31,000 service members on the basis of alleged diagnoses of personality disorder (PD).

Search for articles on Joint Base Lewis McCord where the medical staff was dumped for over using this status/condition. The ranking medical officer and his staff were sacked for this reason.

Well yeah I agree with the first few people. A higher number I believe get honorable discharges. But that is only enlisted members of the service since Commissioned Officers cannot be reduced in rank by a court-martial, nor can they be given a bad conduct discharge or a dishonorable discharge. If an officer is convicted by a General Court-Martial of an offense and qualifies for a punitive discharge, then the General Court-Martial can sentence the officer to a "dismissal." So techinally you would not be able to count them into the statistics.

Let's see:
Honorable Discharge
General Discharge under Honorable Condtions
General Discharge
Dishonorable Discharge
I think that's it. Each one involves a lesser degree of "Honor" but the only bad one is Dishonorable. Most employers never ask unless its civil service job, or involves high security.

Where are you guys getting these answers? According to the Pentagon, only 77 percent get an honorable discharge. If you do not get an honorable discharge, you do NOT get your college money and other benefits.

depending on the wound, they are passed through ROLE1 to ROLE-4 treatment facility. most would end up in the Landstuhl hospital close to Ramstein, GE. bottomline> i might still have somewhere a National Geographic from 2005? where this issue has been discussed. will check for the number.

I'd guesstimate 9.75 outta 10 get Honorable. The other .25 frag innocent people in tents or are just major screw ups.

Very few get" Other than Honorable".
They just get a Re-enlistment Code that prevents them from staying in.
