I don't know that you can get a 2 week old on a schedule, but the best thing you can do is establish a routine. Make day and night clear. Do a bath before bedtime at night. Turn down the lights so it's dark. During the day, try to keep her up longer and get her out in the sunshine. It may take some time and you may have to be a bit insistent with her for a few days, but still be comforting. Meanwhile, try to get some rest during the day while shes napping. Good luck! I know it can be hard, but she'll get it soon.

Batten down the hatches my friend. Two weeks is too early to even hope a schedule it feasible. I have 4 and my youngest is 3 months. Around 2 months you may be able to get him to recognize when he should sleep but even then you're talking about 2 a.m. feedings and really only sleeping for 4-5 hours. Now that my little guy is 3 months he sleeps from about 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. If you can take naps during the day with baby or have someone watch him at your home while you nap. Sleep deprivation is a mothers worse enemy!

She'll switch to a more "appropriate" schedule soon. For the first 4 months or so she'll just be on her own schedule, sleeping, eating and being awake when her body wants. After that, you can start to incorporate a nap and feeding schedule, but don't make it too strict for awhile. Every baby is different and some take to a schedule readily by 6 months- some aren't quite so cooperative! Good Luck- and congrats on your precious baby!

2 week olds don't have a schedule. she will sort herself out. You go with her. Sleep when she sleeps. If you are breastfeeding you will take longer to get a schedule than bottle fed. It took me 9 months to get something that resembled a schedule. But I don't believe much in a schedule for babies. Feed them when they are hungry and let them sleep as much as possible. I never rushed home for their sleeps. If i was out they had to fit in with me. They slept in the pusher (only time in the first 9 months they slept at the same time) . At 4 months i went to sleep school to get a routine happening. It ended up me with two crying babies and at my wits end. Until then they had been happy babies. the next day I went back to how it was. let them set the routine and changed my attitude.

She is on a schedule...hers.
get use to it for the first month or so.
Babies that young have no concept of night and day.
keep it as dark and quiet at night as possible and normal activities in the day. No tip toeing around. She will change soon

Schedules take a while and 2 weeks old is too early still.

I know it's tough and you're probably exhausted, but hang in there. It does get better.

This is typical of children.

She's VERY young, and it's difficult to control their schedules at such a young age. But continue to expect of her the schedule you wish her to follow. She WILL stray away from it, but you have to be patient.

As she gets older, you can tighten things up, and make a more form-fitting schedule.

But for right now, try to make her follow the schedule you wish for her, but don't get upset when she doesn't follow it. =]

Good luck!

they will do that for awhile...

best advice i can give to TRY to regulate it is to give her a calming lavender bath right before bedtime...and during the day, just try to stimulate her as much as you can...Try to keep her awake for a few hours at a time, though that will be hard with one so little!
also, make sure her tummy is full right before bed too!
