If you are referring to the wiring used in connecting the pickups and knobs, you can usually look at the wire itself to determine the gauge (it will say something like AWG 24 or so on the outer shielding). I haven't disassembled a guitar in a long time, so I don't remember if they are solid or braided wires (one thick wire or separate strands braided together) - I am guessing they are braided for heat dissipation purposes.

A word of advice: Take your guitar to a qualified repair tech if you are not experienced in this (based on your question, it sounds like you are not). Believe me, you can destroy more that you can fix by messing with a guitar's wiring!

You can get them anywhere they sell wire.
A guitar only has a few wires anyway.
One for the volume, the treble/bass toggle (if the guitar has it)
The treble knob (if it has one)
and the ones for the pickups.
Just make sure you use the correct gauge wire. The bigger the wire, the less resistance.
