I believe that this war is ridiculous. There was NO WMD'S found. Iraq wasn't a threat the the US. That's what this war is based on...oil. It's very sad to think about...and quite frankly it makes me angry. This war is not worth over 4,000 soldiers lives, its not worth the 6 years we have been fighting the war, it is not worth the billions of dollars that the American people have spent. Nothing good is coming out of this war. First of all all George Bush wants is oil, and he's trying to run a country that we have no business being in. If you ask me all George Bush has done is make Iraq a threat.

Bush is a hero. And he's not doing any oil war. Iraq produces less than 4% of the worlds oil. Texas alone produces more. It's an old and uninformed arguement that the war is connected to oil. Thank Bush and the republicans that someone is strong enough to stand up to and confront Muslim extremists, hope they win, you're future depends on it.

If the war is for oil, then why is gas so damn expensive??
you'd think if we were fighting for oil, then the per barrel cost would plummet and the oil companies would sell more oil because people would use more knowing how cheap it is to by more.
your argument is flawed and it only makes you sound like a parrot.
B. D Mac : Your argument (again parroted) is also flawed, The Saudi government has a good relationship with the US government and has for years (regardless of who was in the white house), If your Allies feel threatened, you do what you can to help them and if that means getting their royal family out of the US then you do it.
If our President was in another country when something similar happened to them, you would be crying foul if he was not allowed to leave, you would say his safety is important.
Please people use your OWN brain!

Oil war??? I think you are severely mistaken. The terrorists that attacked us on 9-11 and still want to eradicate us from the earth, is who President Bush and the rest of the US is at war with. Oil had nothing to do with high-jacked airliners flying into US buildings. Nor in the death of everyone on those flights; but the poor victims in both the WTC and the Pentagon. Please grow up, or shut up: either way leave your mis-informed, pea brained, anti-American thought to yourself. I spent 20+ years defending your right to freedom of speech in the US military. Here is my freedom of speech...President Bush is doing everything, and I am sure has prevented, more attacks on the US. Oil had nothing to with that. Believe it or not, he was/is trying to save your sorry life.

I think only that oil companies that are making record profits at this time when we are running up a deficit should be more than happy to help pay for the war. I'm not saying that the war is only for oil, but I think big oil is getting rich at taxpayer expense and if they are true patriot companies, they'd help out a lot more to pay for the defense of this country that has allowed them to become so rich.
As for Bush, I think he does care about us, but he's more than a little misguided, and it's time for more domestic security, but that costs money and no one wants to pay for it.

This question is in the wrong category. This is a foreign policy question, not a military one. Every last man and woman in all branches of the US armed forces must obey lawful orders. The highest-ranking military officer in the United States takes orders from a civilian.
We all have our opinions about the wisdom or the morality of the war in Iraq, but don't lay that on the military personnel because that's not fair.

If we do not get the oil, someone else will and that will hurt our economy. If we use green energy that costs more and let our enemy's buy oil for 20 dollars a barrel, we would be in big trouble. Oil prices stay high to not hurt us, but to keep others from getting stronger with limited energy resources. thanks
This statement is true as it gets, and if it wasn't true, the President would be an average poor person, the vice president would be a Joe schmuck like ourselves, and corporations wouldn't be contributing to any government officials to be placed in power.

I see you have been brainwashed by the liberal media.
This war is not about oil. It is about survival and freedom. As a people we have been hunted by radical Muslims for decades. They have been at war with us since the 1970's (remember a little thing called the Iran Hostage Situation).
We did nothing for far too long. Then an attack our own soil took us to finally go to war.
We must finish this war on their soil. Our futures and our childrens' futures depend on it.
10 years served USMC Recon
I have fought to defend the freedom that most take for grated
I have shed blood for my country and my freedom
Can you say the same?

I think the same people calling it a "war for oil" are the same people that do not want us to drill our own resources at home in Alaska and offshore. They are the same people who don't want us to build new innovative refineries....if it truly is a war for oil, then green peace hippies have to take some of the responsibility of the blame.
