Tantra is interested in what is. Not what should or shouldn't be. It is against condemnation, as this can never transform or free you.

Tantra teaches the practitioner to learn how to move into the beauty of lovemaking, how to come to the deepest possibility within it, encouraging and allowing the energies to take you to the essence of the bliss that is hidden there.

With this, you can then use this as a jumping off point, to the Cosmic Orgasm - because bliss, ecstasy, they are so much more than the situation of sex. The merging of souls is a gorgeous thing, delicious and rich, ripe to the touch....and this is but a whisper of the possibilities that await the practitioner......

EDIT; to the cosmics of Love ~ I truly believe that this manifestation you speak of is indeed a most significant step in our current expansion, or implosion, as the case may be. For men and women to come together in conscious sacred union, as equals, partners, clear visioned ~ this is an amazing reflection of "as above, so below".....what must be happening in the heavens....lol

Michelle V., Val, BodhiDave, well said all of you.

Digi, my friend, great, no, GREAT question.

This whole subject has been very much on what passes for a mind in my world, and here is the result so far.

Sexual energy is the most powerful method of manifestation that we energetic humans can bring into this physical realm. I am convinced that this has to do with the dual base program of animal life forms, individual survival, and species survival.

Then add our energetic element, in which the driving element is the 'Power of Love', which largely, or at least in part, is transliterated into sexual union as an expression of who we are here in this place.

I am starting to think that the heightening awareness of our divine sexuality which I observe all around, but in a slightly more 'focal' manner here, is rather more important to our 'created future' than we may have thought. I am aware that many belief systems predicated on exactly this same element, but somehow I suspect that there was always a 'taint' of some kind .... maybe not, but no matter.

I wrote to my beloved only yesterday, and I hope that I am not betraying a 'special confidence' here ( if so forgive me ), that maybe we are supposed to generate the energetic power to induce the 'Shift' of human awareness to the next level primarily through the intense application of divinely inspired Tantric Union.

I also used a little 'earthier' expression too, but that is too personal for public consumption ! ;-)))

A personal view, but one developing strongly as we build up for the changes that are already under way.

It's actually misinterpreted as just for some kind of happy sex experience, when in reality it's about Buddhist Tantric practice and only at a highly realized state of mind in order to practice it. In plain English Western minds misinterpret it and misuse it.

You might like the book "The Psychology of Buddhist Tantra"
by Rob Preece. I just finished reading it the other day and it'll answer all those questions much better that I have room or time to answer here... besides I'm a lousy teacher. *w*

Michelle V., Val, BodhiDave, nicely reported all of you. Digi, my buddy, super, no, super question. this finished concern has been very plenty on what passes for a recommendations in my international, and right it is the end result so a techniques. Sexual potential is the main effective technique of manifestation that we lively people can carry into this actual realm. i'm confident that this has to do with the twin base software of animal existence types, person survival, and species survival. Then upload our lively ingredient, wherein the using ingredient is the 'potential of love', which generally, or a minimum of partly, is transliterated into sexual union as an expression of who we are right here in this place. i'm beginning off to think of that the heightening expertise of our divine sexuality which I word all around, yet in a reasonably extra 'focal' way right here, is much extra important to our 'created destiny' than we would have concept. i'm conscious that many perception systems predicated on precisely this same ingredient, yet in a roundabout way i think that there replaced into continuously a 'taint' of a few style .... possibly not, yet no remember. I wrote to my loved in simple terms the day gone by, and that i'm hoping that i'm not betraying a 'specific self assurance' right here ( if so forgive me ), that perchance we are meant to generate the lively potential to set off the 'Shift' of human expertise to the subsequent point mostly in the process the bright utility of divinely inspired Tantric Union. I extensively utilized a sprint 'earthier' expression too, yet it extremely is in simple terms too very own for public intake ! ;-))) a private view, yet one bobbing up strongly as we advance for the transformations that are already under way. {{{{{{{{{{{Cosmic Union}}}}}}}}}}} Sluurrp ( Boy i mandatory that )

Your thoughts, Sir? :-)

Have read a lot of Osho, and can see where he's coming from, but...

Wasn't the Buddha celibate & encouraging of his monks to develop along those lines?

I know there may be a lot to read between the lines of the texts.

I know it can help remove feelings of remorse etc, which is of course, a good thing.

Will keep an open mind, inspired by your good self, DL.

The Buddha once hinted that the view that celibacy was the essence of service, was one siding with self mortification (attakilamatthaanuyoga), and so was to be transcended, along with addiction to sensuality (kaamasukhalikaanuyoga).

Can see how tantra can provide a kind of middle path for the laity, potentially.

Monks may take a different route.

Thanks, Digi.

Arjuna

Edit: Have had a chance to think about it & I'm thinking, could it not be a referring to the male & female, positive & 'negative', Yin & Yang aspects within us all?

A large part of life appears to be the balancing & managing in terms of non-excess, of these two extremes. "Everything in moderation; nothing in excess".

In the words of my Perfect Teacher... :-)

I've never had the opportunity to try it.. though you know that from our email correspondence.

For what I imagine though.. it takes physical sex to another level.. a level where your spirits unite, not just the physical body.. a much more intense pleasure.. .that accompanies the whole being...

A much more, whats the word... complete.. for lack of better words.. way to express the love and desire for one another...

But, as I said, thats only what I'd imagine from tantric massage and tantric sex

Not completely sure how you mean the phrase "spiritual significance," but Tantra in general embraces a deep understanding that ANYTHING can be a vehicle for transformation.

Tantric sex can include visualizations of your partner and yourself as spiritual beings. It can also include techniques to enliven kundalini energies.

And when productive, the resulting experiences are matter-of-factly more wonderful and more uplifting than the typical sexual orgasm. A LOT more.

No, Beloved;
You go right ahead. In fact, here's a *feather*, for some ((((((((cosmic tickling....))))))))))))

For you Digi; and the Voyager has said it very well. I watch what we 'do' for the answers to the question. Not what we say.

In our cosmic awakening, we are literally moving in this direction of open sensuality and awakening our vibrations through sexual expression. That's our actions. Now, our thoughts of it are a completely different matter. Those who can stay open, bear the rewards connected in being able to step in without judgement or past. Making a new 'Present'.

Makes sense in light of Love, doesn't it?

A good book is
Wearing the Body of Visions
by Ngakpa Chogyam

The sex bit.... well, don't put to much emphasis on that.
Tantra is just a description of the non-dual nature of reality.

The spiritual significance is to touch and celebrate the soul . . . not just the body. Orgasm of the soul . . .not just the body. The experience is stunning and beautiful.
