E.O.Wilson thought that atheists and theists could pull together to save the environment, one of the great moral challenges we face today. But that hasn't happened to any great degree. I suspect it's because too many religious fanatics think the world will end soon with Jesus return (as many as 38% in the US), so why care about the future of our grandchildren or their grandchildren. Another way in which we're all screwed by the religious.

LOL... well, first I'd have to stop trying to use my keyboard to dig a hole to escape from my office, but heck yeah I'd beat it into a sword!! (although then I'd have to reimburse my company for the darn thing... anybody got an extra keyboard I could "wield"?)

I would say yes... Our daily petty squabbles would be put aside for the greater good - saving the very place we keep coming back to each and every day...
This board is like a second home - and we will defend it (to the death* if neccessary) from invaders...
