I'm reading it now she was such a woman of God and helped save so many people during Hitler's reign and the Nazis time.
If you have not I suggest you do.
She was captured and tortured for helping them and most of her family died in the camps.
makes me think. and she never waviered in her faith always trusting in The Lord.
She glorified God with her life.

i read the hiding place. i read it a couple of times when i was in the middle school, then i read it again as an adult. i am impressed by the fact that she survived the holocaust then went on to become a successful author. she had to be very strong to maintain her mental capacity.

I thought it was called, "The Hiding Place"

That was a great book and she was a great woman. She was an example of what a true Christian should be.

There was this part that I remember from the book that really stood out to me. It was when she was in the concentration camp- They had lice in her little bunker. She said that she was thankful for the lice. She was thankful because the guards would not come in because they were afraid of getting the lice. So they were left alone in their bunker for some time and they were able to freely read the bible someone had smuggled in without the guards knowing.

She really was a great example of so many things, from loving your neighbor to gratitude and forgivenes.

Anyone who has a chance should learn about her. She was a true Christian. I am sure she is being rewarded in heaven for her sacrifices.

I read it! It was an awsome book. it just goes to show how good we have it and how we take advantage of God's love, grace, and mercy. We often times complain about the trails that we are going through and how bad we have it, but look at what she went through! And she still kept her faith, she still trusted the lord! To many times people go through one hard thing in life and fall away from the Lord but what they don't relize is that God is with them and what's happening is happening for a reason. Look how many lives Corrie Ten Boom has touched by her faith in hard times, and even today people like yourself and I are being touched by just reading of her actions. I'm sorry i am not trying to preach to the choir but you asked how felt. lol. :)

I hadn't heard of the ten Booms before, but after a little research it becomes clear the greatness of this family. There were literally thousands of people throughout Europe who, like the ten Booms, risked their lives to save Jews and others, most of whom they never knew before. Many of these righteous people were caught and killed and their names lost to history.

In talking with those who escaped the holocaust through the acts of kindness of people like the ten Booms, a common theme of anonymity comes through. Many of those who helped never told those they were helping their names and didn't want to know the names of the escapees....always in fear that if someone were caught, the entire network could be discovered.

Due to this necessity, many who deserve recognition have remained nameless to all except God.

Yes its a very good book. Did you know that one of the ministries she was involved with was helping the Nazi soldiers recover from their emotional scars after the war. What an example of forgiveness! Now I'll have to check out the links ;o)

Ten what? Where ever did she get her brassieres?

But seriously, she sounds like a pretty brave person to have stuck her neck out to help other people. Would she have done it were she not religious I wonder?

Remember, "god" is nothing more than a nonsense word made up by man to explain away the things we can't yet understand.
