I own a car that I recently gave to my sister for the time being. Its still under my name, but I won't be driving it anytime in the foreseeable future. My insurance on my car runs out on Aug 10th. My sister will be getting insurance on the car before she starts driving, even though the car will remain under my name.

Do I need to purchase insurance after Aug 10th even though I will not be driving the car anymore?

My fiancée and I now share a car which is insured under her name and has her name on the title. My name is NOT on the title or on the documents proving the car is insured. I obviously have her "permission" to drive this car whenever I want. I am 28 years old and my fiancée is 25.

Do I need to get insurance under my name for this car?

Any help is appreciated and thank you in advance :)

First off, insurance companies are concerned about who has care/custody/control of a vehicle. This means if your sister has it and is the primary driver, it's considered hers even though your name is still technically on the title. She can insure it herself and you do NOT have to insure it.

BUT, it is in your interest to make sure your sister carries high enough coverages to protect yourself. While insurers are happy to insure her, legally, you as the registered owner, are primarily responsible for any liability arising out of the use of that vehicle. That means if she has a bad enough accident (factoring in medical expenses, pain, suffering, loss of wages, and physical property damage) that exceeds her coverage, you are responsible for the difference up to the value of your total assets, including future earnings. To make a long story short, this is why everyone needs to carry the appropriate levels of insurance for themselves.

In other words, it's almost redundant to have your own policy if your sister will be insuring the car, but make sure your sister's insurance is high enough to protect you.

I am not aware of any insurance companies that allow anyone but the owner to carry insurance on a vehicle. You should check with your company before letting your Sister take over the car. You may have to keep the insurance and add her to the policy.

My brothers just went through your situation and what happened was1 brother has both cars in his name, my other brother drove one car, no need to change the registered info into your sisters name just add her to your cars policy or get uninsured motorist coverage. meaning that whom ever is in the vehicle will be covered. your sister will have no problem getting insurance in her name either, even if the car is in your name. a couple of choices all will work promise, my brothers are all ok driving their cars and insured no problems.

If there is not sufficient freon in the equipment the low stress change won't enable the compressor to work together. it is to dodge harm to the comp. in case you alter the comp. and disconnect stress lines, the equipment would desire to be hooked to a vucuum to get rid of any air in equipment before any freon is extra. Tis is complete at an vehicle save. If seize is eye-catching, the middle portion of the pulley will spin. you are able to pass the low change for a couple of minutes with the aid of putting a jumper twine to connect the two wires going to it,if this engages the seize you have low stress in the equipment

Yes, I would add her to your policy and put her as primary driver. That way you know your but is covered. Learn more at http://insurancetipsguide.com/
