Jesus taught that drinking was a sin-oops, wrong. His first miracle was turning water into wine. Jesus taught that partying was a sin-oops! wrong again, the pharisees criticized him for partying with the wrong people. Jesus taught that homosexuality was a sin-WRONG again. Jesus never said anything about homosexuality even though it was common practice in Greco-Roman society. The sins Jesus talked about: judging others, condemning others, relying on wealth instead of on God.

CJ, I'm not saying just because Jesus didn't talk about something, it's not a sin, I'm saying some of the things many Christians call a sin, Jesus didn't waste his time with. He said the greatest commandment was to love God, and love one's neighbor as oneself. Can you love someone and rape them, or commit violence against them? or for that matter, tell them they're a blasphemer and sinner??? Some of you Christians are downright mean spirited, and to cloak it in terms of the demands of faith or following Christ is ridiculous.

Well said!!!!!
sadly though, most of the "supposidly" christians answers on here are all to quick to "judge and condemn" others for their short comings.
Thankfully this is NOT reality or there would be soo much "self rightious" stone throwing....DUCK!!!!!

Keri , you are giving people the impression that there is no laws concerning drinking. He didn't say we couldn't drink, he said that drunkenness was a sin. Christ never said that partying was a sin, it's what you do at a party that might be a sin. Partying with saints would not achieve Christ's goals. Just like it is better for a doctor to be at a hospital than at a Bodybuilders convention. Christ didn't address the issue of homosexuality that I know of. I admit i could be wrong. But the bible says that it is a shame. And that they are homosexuals because they were / are adulterers. Things that they have done in the time period between Genesis 1:1 and 1:2 is the cause of their current homosexuality. If you don't understand this you can email me or just put it on the shelf and someday it may be revealed to you . But I understand what you are trying to do but it isn't coming off as you intended. I had to look at your avatar info because i thought you were an atheist at first. God bless.

Jesus taught about the destruction (Luke 17:29.) and judgment (Matthew 11:24.) of Sodom and Gomorrah. Where would you get such an idea? He made water into wine at a wedding. And he tried his best to convert the sinners. Whats up with that?

Some of you are making the words define the way you want them, not how it really was. He made water into wine, but not fermented to make you drunk. He may have partied to celebrate a great thing and the words of sharing God.
God talks in the Bible about sex being only between man and woman. I would have to look up all these scriptures, but that wouldn't convince you anyway, you are looking for excuses to put down our God and that is blasphemy. you can't take wealth with you when your times comes, what you take is your soul, saved or unsaved to heaven or hell, your choice,

No, eating alcohol isn't a sin ... the verse you're describing says "be in contrast to a inebriated...." which has been misconstrued for a looooooong time. don't be a inebriated, do not drink alcohol to the ingredient of inebriation, it somewhat is undesirable on your physique, undesirable on your recommendations. that is okay to have a lager at the same time as watching the interest, or a pitcher of wine with dinner. yet who in the international could ever think of that a slobbery, falling-down inebriated is a robust ingredient? lol

What Did Jesus Teach About Sin?
Most would rather bask in nice stories about Christ, in the knowledge of His grace and forgiveness of sin without acknowledging the requirements of obedience to Him and His law or the consequences of sin.
Yet, far from honoring his or her Savior, the Christian who does this actually demeans the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and shows a lack of understanding of what sin is and what it costs.
Just what is sin? The Bible defines sin as transgression of the law (1 John 3:4).
Jesus taught that actions that led to sins were to be stopped, not tolerated under an umbrella of unconditional grace. In John 8 we find a story of how the religious leaders of His day sought to entrap Him by making a difficult judgment. They did so by bringing before Him a woman caught in the act of adultery and asking Him what punishment she deserved.
Jesus told those who accused her to stone her if they were without sin. The accusers left one by one. But to the woman He said: "Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?" She responded, "No one, Lord." Jesus then told her, "Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more" (verses 10-11, emphasis added).
Jesus told her to stop sinning. If we are followers of Christ, should we not heed His instruction as well?

Uhh, Jesus also never said anything about rape. So are you saying rape is okay? Jesus never said anything about arson. Is that okay too, by your deluded logic?
Jesus never said alcohol was evil, but that drunkenness is evil.
Homosexuality was already condemned as evil by that society, so nothing needed to be said.
