Let the dead bury their dead, as Jesus says. If they will not hear you, they will not hear Jesus either. Let them alone, they are blind leading the blind and they both shall fall in a ditch. Tell them the Truth once, if they will not hear it, wipe the dust from your feet and move on, Cast not your pearls of wisdom to swine, they will only trample it. What fellowship hath light with darkness? therefore if they refuse to see the light, they will be in darkness, and when they stand before God on Judgement Day, they will recall the thousands of people who have tried to get them to see the light, but they stubbornly refused, and they will pay for their refusal of the Truth.
95% of the entire world believe in a supreme being of some kind. leave it to the 5% atheists who think they are smarter then the entire world, that in itself should tell you something about them, these 5% think the entire world is mislead, misguided, and/or believe fables. They are blind, dead, and lost. let them be.

Narrow and straight is the Way (Jesus) in the Atonement ,and Few there be that find it,Hey this is a fixed fight ,You are a Winner:But Broad is the Way, that leads to Destruction, and Maney are going in that direction. There is God;
There is the Arch Enemy of God( Satan) a Rebel;
Everyone walking on this Planet,is serving God or
Serving Satan;Man has a Choice to Surrender to God, if no, then Person is servant to (Satan);
There is always a Remnant;
Your question brought a Scripture to Mind;Elijah
had finished with all the Prophets of Baal,He is told that Jezebel was going to kill him,because all
Baal prophets were gone,He runs to cave,tells God, This is a most Wicked Gen,I am left ,God reminds Elijah,I have 7000 that have not bowed their knee to baal; So You"re in very good company,1 Kings ch. 18 and 19

God does not want everybody.

I get a lot of Christians saying things that promote their lack of discernment. This is another one of them.

Nothing against you, I just recognize that along with the same thing that Jesus Himself went through (disbelief of others) and poor teaching of pastors, some of us have lost site of the old truths. One of those old truths is the idea that God has His sight on a few people in the earth. Not all. And it's for us to look to Him for the discernment that it takes to know the difference.

We are not to change everyones mind. That is not what we are supposed to do. We are to present the Gospel message and let the chips fall where they may. God does the convicting by the Holy Spirit as Jesus told us in John 16.

So don't fret ( Psalm 37) about evil men. Look to Christ to raise you not only in body and spirit, but also in maturity. We battle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers: The things that we cannot see, but know of because of the evidence thereof. Learn and grow!

Firstly, it is not our job to convince them, that is the job of the Holy Spirit ("So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow." I Cor 3:7) we are just "planters" and "waterers" at best. So don't worry about convincing them. Plant the word, water it and leave the rest to God.

Secondly, we don't have to fight them ("For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." Eph 6:12). Our enemies are the spiritual forces, not human beings.

Pray for them and Love them. That is the Christ-way to deal with atheists (or anyone for that matter)

We stand firm when our faith is unshakable. For them, we pray because they will not be convinced until God stirs within their souls and awakens them. There is no point fighting, the war is God's, not ours. We plant the seed, if we can, but it is the Holy Spirit that makes it take root. If it doesn't take root in some, then we know that God is not calling them for His purpose and that is their choice:

2 Thessalonians 2: 10-12--" and with all deceit of unrighteousness for them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11 And for this cause God sendeth them a working of error, that they should believe a lie:
12 that they all might be judged who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. "

I think the problem is the trying to convince them part. You don't respect their ideas, therefore they don't respect you. And yes it does go both ways.

If you listen to their ideas without attacking and saying that they are wrong. They might just show you that they are willing to listen your ideas. You will probably never convince them otherwise and they will probably never convince you to change your ideas about faith, but being respectful will get you a lot further than fighting.

Hows about just calling it quits this whole doctrine mess from you guys have been wearing very thin like a cheap pair of shoes. I for the life of me understand if your god left it up to you directly to fight his battles. No modern day Christian is going to follow the entire teaches of god nor the bible old or new testament. So why bother passionately make it your "job" to save let alone convince others?

We don't fight against them The fact is that we can't convince everyone to follow "The Way" It's a personal choice as it should be. Do you think God wants us to have to believe in him? If he did it would be a moot point.

It is not neccesary for us to fight against them, so long as we show them our contentment in God and the joy religion brings us.

If we show non believers our religion, and explain to them how Christ died for us, if they still do not believe then it will take prayer and kindness towards them.

So long as people know about Christianity and that they can turn to God, then that is fight enough.

Just make sure to put on your armor and remember that our battle is spiritual.

2 Corinthians 10:4-5 (New King James Version)

4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ

Ephesians 6:10-18 (New International Version)

The Armor of God

10Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. 12For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.
