I would say you should charge around $15-$20 an hour. Realistically, you are being put in charge of keeping someone else's child alive, healthy, entertained, educated, and protected for a huge chunk of the day for FIVE days a week. That's a HUGE job...
Also, if I read your post right, you said you will provide one meal during that time? Factor in the daily cost and decide if you want to add it to your total or if you want to request the parents bring the food themselves.
What is your time worth? What services are you providing? Factor it up... You are doing a very important job.

A four year old will keep you very busy. I would probably charge anywhere from $80 - $100 per week. If there are special needs, depending on what they are, I might charge more. Providing meals from your own stock or theirs? If yours, add on $10. If theirs, then I wouldn't add any extra. Are they providing your meals too? You may want to take this into consideration as well. Daycares here only charge between $4 and $6 an hour. I think that unless you are SuperNanny or something, anything over $9/hour is outrageous! But then again you may need to take in consideration of how much the parent(s) make.
My daughter goes to daycare for 6.5 hours/day, 5 days/week at $5.50/hour and she gets lunch and a snack everyday. Thank goodness I get assistance paying for it or I would be only be making just enough to pay for her to GO to daycare!

I recommend looking in to the time-honored value of daycares on your section and value a splash under that in the time of much less you're authorized and schooled then you definately ought to value the comparable. I pay $one hundred forty a week for my 7 month old to be in a daycare 8-9 hours an afternoon and we've been going to apply an in residing house daycare that replaced into authorized for $one hundred and five a week (she went back to artwork finished time so she closed her daycare) and that i've got a pal that may no longer authorized and costs $580 a month to babysit a 4 month old finished time m-f ($a hundred forty five)

Everyone is giving answers as if you are the babysitter. Aren't you the parent who is going to hire the babysitter? I'm from CA so things are expensive. Daycare part time as you say for 1 week costs $70-$200 weekly. However, sometimes you get what you pay for. I know cost is important but please do a background check. Make sure whether you are paying $20 or $500, your child is going to be safe.

It really Depends on your location. If your in a bigger city like Miami then they usually charge $20 per hour, but in little towns you can usually get between 3 and $6 per hour. it also depends on the income of the family.

Are You eating their food? Are you going to their house?
I would say maybe anywhere form $90 to $120 would sound resonable.
