I'm trying to eat a cleaner diet. Meaning less process foods and zero fatty meats, and more whole foods and fish.

I feel that my body craves fatty foods and sugar highs. What's a good way of dealing with the side effects of the transition?

I feel my energy is up, but I often feel bored or that I'm missing out since I'm not eating fatty meats and cheeses and sweets anymore (then when I'm eating unhealthy I get depressed, it's like I can't win against myself).

I often thinking about junk and MISS it. Even though I feel 100% better. It's weird.

The best way to deal with this kind of situation is to not completely eliminate your likings for unhealthy foods. Always, when you try to withdraw from food that is not right for you, you tend to crave it even more and you give up and go back to your old habits.
My recommendation is to plan your week in a way you can manage. So try to pick at least 1-2 days out of the week where you get to enjoy whatever food you like but of course remember, it is the portion that you have to watch. So the remaining 5 days you need to be religious with your healthy eating pattern. This way you will not miss your favorite unhealthy foods and at the same time you will also discipline yourself with the healthy choices you make.

I deal with the battle against sweets daily! I know how hard it can be, so over the past couple of months I have slowly begun weeding myself off of my beloved sweets. No more soda at all - pretty much the only beverage I drink is water (and Perrier for the times I want something carbonated). I have also eliminated most alcohol consumption, as I am a mixed drink kind of girl. When I do drink alcohol, it's vodka cranberry, vodka water, or rye and water. After a while you don't even want the soda.

As for cookies and cakes, I allowed treats every few days, now my treats are down to once a week, and even that I don't mind missing my Sunday night treat. One great food product that I turn to when I need a chocolate fix is Nutella. A tiny bit of the chocolate hazelnut spread on a piece of whole wheat toast has gotten me through a few tough cravings!

Hang in there, you will stop missing the junk food eventually, just takes time.

Oh yeah, I also replaced ice cream with zero fat low cal vanilla yogurt. With a few fresh berries, a banana, or any other fruit, it's an excellent healthy snack with the right amount of sweetness. =)

When I became a vegetarian I dealt with the same withdrawals you are experiencing. The first key is to killing those cravings is to never allow yourself to get hungry. If you have something in your stomach, you will be much less likely to crave crap. Try snacking on fruits. The natural sugar content will help tremendously. Don't rob yourself of sweetness. I can't stress splenda enough. Craving salt? Check out reduced fat wheat thins. I love 'em.

We've become totally addicted to fast food;-{
specifically the fat, sugar, & carbohydrate content.
The single worst factor being soda pop drinks.
Even the sugar substitutes maintain those cravings.
When you shop, stay on the periphery of the store.
Buy only natural products, including whole-grains,
& linger in the produce section to stock up.

The sugars in fruit & fibre in veggies are better for you.
When you get those cravings, your body is signalling,
it's looking for vitamins & minerals you are missing.
Get yourself on a regimen of vitamins & minerals.
Eat low-fat unsweetened yoghurt for your digestive tract.
You can make easy dips for fruit & veggies with yoghurt.

Try fruit or even veggies. I like to make kool-aid with those new splenda packets specially for kool-aid. Eventually you will stop craving really sweet things. I tend to crave fruit when I needsweet things and when I feel hungry I tend to crave veggies. Or just drink a glass of water. Sometimes cravings are just your body's way of saying its thirsty.

It is so sad that you were raised with so little healthy choices,

I wish there was an easy answer to this, I wish I could say you can change overnight, but I know how an addiction to anything can drive you.

you are going to have to fight it everyday, and just get headstrong about it, and FIGHT those demans from your past to make the best for your future.

think of it like this everyday, "my past (rearing) is trying to kill me, but I am stronger than that and can overcome every little thing that my past try's to kill me with" and then over come that craving and go out and run and feel the freedom from your past.

No junk food is disgusting.
If I eat it too much I feel sick.
