and if necessary what are some bad things? i think god may be leading me in the direction of a Christian college but I'm definitely keeping in mind that there could be some things that have always bothered me about Christian politics there. I'm just wondering if you go to a Christian college, or you want to, what do you like about the environment. and what don't you like about it?

OK, I wasn't going to put my 2 cents in here til I read "a degree from a real non Christian... was more appealing..."
Dow Chemical rated the undergrad Chemistry program at Abilene Christian University among the TOP 5 in the US. Clearly, the statement doesn't hold water and is seriously over-generalized. It depends on the school and the degree plan.

There are a number of reasons that people choose religious colleges. I personally don't have a problem with being confronted with ideas that may run counter to my Christian faith, because I can research those ideas objectively and make my own decision on them, but some people dislike what they perceive as "secular humanism" within state-funded colleges. Others simply wish to be with other believers. Sometimes (but not always) the classes are a bit smaller, which is often a bonus for people who are uncomfortable with being "just a number" at a larger university. Also, some (but not all) Christian schools have a longstanding record of academic excellence. Some people, however, may find the idea of a Christian school too rigid, or fear that they won't be truly academically challenged (which will depend upon which school one chooses to attend, because some are really good, and some aren't).

A good Christian school can be a real blessing. You receive an excellent education in a safe atmosphere with people who share your values and hopes. Since they are private schools, they may be a little more expensive, but normally they have better scholarships and grants to offset the extra cost.
The only problem I have heard of is that some Christian colleges strictly monitor relationships between the sexes. By that I mean strict curfews, no inappropriate behavior in public, etc. I was told that under these circumstances some people end up marrying before they are ready.

The benefits depend on you. I went and decided to spend most of my time with the campus "rebels" (pretty laughable compared to rebels at non-christian schools, but anyway...) and didn't really get serious about my walk with God until my last semester (after returning from a missions trip). The pluses were definitely the people, I met some of the greatest people imaginable and am still in contact with plenty of them over 25 years later. It's also potentially a great place to meet the person you'll marry (though I didn't). Bad points are hypocrites and the fact that they're administered by people and mistakes will be made (I think too many of us expected the admin to be a lot more perfect than they were).

He told you the truth, that is a good sign that he is an honest fellow. And he will probably pay for your repairs. But he should know that it would have been cheaper to get insurance! The only bad part here would be if this was not the first time, and he has no license, and no insurance for reasons other than money. Then it would be better to report it and have him face the consequences.

You will be with people who will guide you in your faith and that will help your overall outlook on life. Plus it gives you a chance to more openly become closer to God.

I think a degree from a real non christian college is more appealing to employers than one from a christian college.
People seriously get annoyed with christians and some employers do not want them at there business and having a degree from a christian college certainly does not help.

I'm sure it's great if you want someone controlling your every action and treating you like you're in elementary school. Sounds a lot better than finding out what it means to be an adult and how to act on your own.

At least when you get drunk and hook up the other person will know it's a "sin" too. Other than that, in my experience with those from Christian schools, not much.
