Australia is a big place, as big as the USA and bigger than Europe. Would you ask such a question of the USA or Europe? There are many things to do and see everywhere in Australia. If you want a good introduction to Australia, read Bill Bryson's book "Down Under". That should give you lots of ideas.

Western Australia is further away but worth the effort you can go to World Heritage listed Sharks Bay and Monkey Mia or Ningaloo Reef and swim and dive with the Whale Sharks or go to Fremantle fishing habour then get the ferry over to Rottenest Island ,go down south from there and visit the forests and wineries they have or you could go to a place called El Questro station in the outback so uniquely Australian and then top it of with a swim at beautiful Broome and hopefully get to see the staircase to moon while you are there a natural wonder.

You definitely have to come to the Gold Coast! I moved here from Melbourne when I was about 5 and have now been here for 23 years. The beaches, the friendly people, the nightlife everything is fantastic. You can go up to Mt.Tamborine to Eagle Heights Hotel for lunch. It used to be Mel Gibson's house but he didn't want it. Shop through Surfers Paradise and go to the beach. Pacific Fair and Harbourtown are two great places to shop. The list just goes on and on!!! Hope you have a great time.
Good luck and travel safe.

Too many to list.
K Bear seems to favour Queensland but WA is a gem and far less touristy. If you want party city try Sydney and Melbourne.
If you want natural wonders go to WA.
