don't get me wrong i love Dale Sr., but how can you even compare the 2 drivers. Dale Sr. was a legend!!

I think that you are confusing being cocky with being assertive and he is that I will agree. Tony is from the old school of drivers such as Dale Sr. whom wasnt afraid to tell it like it was and if you didnt like it that was your problem. Tony is one heck of a driver you do have to admit that. I like the man, I met him last week at PIR in Kentucky and the man was nice to me.

In the 80's and early 90's Dale Earnhardt Sr. wasn't a legend. He was a cocky driver like Tony Stewart. I saw it first hand several times at the Wilkesboro Speedway. My uncle was a major sponsor and I got to know the drivers, in the late 80's pretty well. Dale was a great guy off the track, but a demon on the track. Tony shows a lot of those same qualities. You don't want to compare? why? Because Dale is no longer with us?
P.S. I'm not even a Tony Stewart fan.

cocky, yes, passionate, yes, cheap shot, no....... ANY driver put in the position that stewart is accustomed to, including the #3 car would do exactly what the #20 does to win the race...... he's not perfect, he makes mistakes, and, like Big E, he offers little or no apologies....... Tony Stewart is the hands down best driver on the cup series right now, save none..... He can, and has won in everything from open wheels to outlaws, and don't forget the 2 cup championships.... Not everyone likes his personality, either in, or out of the car..... But if it wasn't for individuals like smoke, nascar would be the same as F1......Eh?

Tony Stewart actually best driver in NASCAR so u better don't push on him. Tony Stewart own Eldora Speedway, and he races the late models.Tony Stewart wins three in the row so what now. so Dale Sr. suck

I don't like Stewart but he is not a cheap shot driver but he has a nasty attitude problem. Funny thing, I work at Home Depot but I wear my Jeff Gordon jacket to work. I do agree though that Tony is arrogant, cocky & you Stewart fans say that Gordon whines but, what does Tony do if he loses, he starts to pout & blame others.

I think people don't like Tony for the same reasons they didn't like Richard Petty, Dale E., Bobby Allison, Davey Allison and Montoya. Aggressiveness, what is acceptable in NASCARS eyes vs. fans eyes.
He's just racing and has my respect. I don't like to play the blame game. Look at Mark Martin, he's the opposite personality from Tony and never got a championship (four seconds). His agressiveness has been blamed in the past.

Sorry but I am one of SMOKE'S fans that take all the bull-$25K from people like you, who do not understand that TONY IS TONY. He is not some Hollywood, cookie cutter driver as so many drivers have turned out to be. IF you were a true fan, you would know of the many excellent drivers who actually said what they thought without worrying about being P.C. Just in case you do not understand P.C. it stands for POLITICALLY CORRECT!

ok time to knock a head or two...ok how many races did Dale SR win by doing same thing as Stewart did to win and no one is calling him names and badmouthing him.Gordon has done same thing and hes called a cheater.every single driver will do whatever it takes to win when it comes down to it.i say go tony keep up the KITTY KITTY

Tony does not do anything that dale sr didn't do for years and get away with it. I hate that dale sr is dead, i really do but he was a legend in his own mind

Hi all,
I think that Tony Stewart has come along way. He has been a S.O.B. a baby,a bully and a whiner. But I 'm really coming around. He likes to do his know thing for the fans. I really like that. He has been doing better interviews. He has stopped blaming everyone but himself for trouble on the track and when someone messes with him he gets them back...
I still love watching KEVIN HARVICK.. race. Cool...
