They evolved. Anyhow, I don't eat them often. Well, maybe once a year. Pork roast and apple sauce. Old habits die hard, and so do the poor pigs.

The pig, was created to be a natural "recycling" center. Left over foods not consumed in the human food chain, needed a place to disposed of. This was before the days of land fills that employed large tracked vehicles to bury the material. Pigs then assumed thier place in the grand scheme of things called the food chain.
Included with nature's garbage disposal system (pig) s, vultures, and assorted carrion feeders, such as crabs - lobsters. While this is all mentioned in the Bible, it applies even to a greater degree in this day in age thanks to all of the polution which is being disarded, and finding it's path back into the whole food chain.
Remember the food chain, starts at the very smallest single celled form of life found in water. Each smaller food type serves as a meal for a larger form off life. This continues right on up to the human being. What ever the human chooses to eat, will include everything consumed in the smaller life forms. One such example is "mercury" found in increasing quanities, of sea life.

a pig / swine is unclean..
a pig is a garbage disposal, a weed eater, root digger, ground cleaner, snake catcher...
.Deuteronomy 14 ..the dietary laws....
clean and unclean are clearly stated...do not eat swine, cat, dog, bat, squirrel, rat, possum, skunk, vulture, hawk, clam, crab, shrimp, lobster...these animals were created as the clean up crew, they are garbage eaters...
things were dirty back then and are even dirtier today..
all the diseases today, where are they coming from? eating every unclean thing that crawls across your plate and then blaming God for getting cancer and getting sick...
and the sheet dropping down from heaven, etc...did not give permission to eat unclean.... many have taken this out of context and use it to justify eating that which is unclean....
it was referring to the Jews and Gentiles calling each other clean and unclean and the Jews wrong belief that they were the only ones to hear the Gospel...all are clean and granted to the words of the Gospel...
It is not just a Jewish thing, it is a Christian thing....
"If you Love me obey my laws."
We don't get to pick and chose which laws we will obey today...and a different set tomorrow...

Pigs weren't created. They evolved from other forms of life, the same way humans and all other forms of life did.

The pig WASN'T created. It evolved, therefore does not have a specific purpose. Don't eat a pig because pigs are a rather intelligent species.
