I would go for matching drapes, unless you paint the rooms in two different colors to give it a seperate room feeling. If the whole area is the same color, giving the illusion of one room, its best to go with the same drapes!

Either matching drapes, or complementary drapes. For example have one set of drapes...say...with a flower pattern (or any other type of pattern) and then pick a color in that scheme and buy solid drapes of that color for the other set. I can under stand wanting to try to break the room up a bit, but since it is an open area you do have to make sure things at least look nice with each other. Good luck and have fun with your project!!

You do not need matching drapes at all. Try picking a color scheme that you would want for both drapes (but different styles,length,etc.). You can also do neutral colors and have one in beige and the other in chocolate brown or something light (but same style). Either ways, you do not need matching drapes (unless you want them).

If you have a drapery fabric that you love, you can easily do two different types of window treatments with tha same fabric ( i.e. drapes on one window and a roman shade on the other). It is perfectly fine and trendy right now to mix and match. Just make sure they compliment each other and you should be fine. Good luck!

use different drapes, just be sure they coordinate. use colors to tie them together.
maybe your sofa could be used to divide the rooms and define the spaces
or a large area rug under the table and another one in the living room area.
hope this helps.

I have an open floor plan as well. And I have the same as you, one window on one end and one on the other end. I have curtains that are the same colors but not exactly the same style and it looks fine. My kitchen is also open and it has a window with totally different colors of curtains.

You can have different drapes but I would recommend keeping them in the same color scheme. Don't do something completly different that will clash.

1] use matching drapes
2] use area rug under dining table
3] use both of two colors in both rooms; and add a third, different color in each for pillows, lamps, an armchair, vases, or candles.
Example:
LR: blue, green, and yellow;
DR: blue, green, and lavender
