I've seen questions in tests on correspondence courses that says ideally a soldier should have at least one day off a week, if possible two. Is there a reg stating this somewhere?

in the Marines it is one meal a day, even if it is just a cracker, and 3 hours sleep unless on a 24 hour watch

No regulation controls that, on every deployment I have been on, I've works either 12+hour shifts, for atleast a week before a day off. or I have been on call 24/7 the entire time, with a sparatic mission cycle and no actual days off. Just days on standby once or twice a week where there is enough downtime for me to enjoy my spank tank. 8 hour shifts are nothing, stop complaining. Work a real schedule that's demanding and then come on the internet and demand some pity.

There is no requirement for 'days off' in Army regulations. The one day off is a recommendation for maintaining soldier performance for long (several month) time periods.

The Army Regulation that covers leave dose not specify any time off other than authorized leave. Most MACOM's have a policy for time and holidays. Look at you local Post policy's and go from there.

In the military you are on duty 24/7, However you can make arrangements with your Chain of Command to get time off for studying.

no regs for that amount of time off, per month each soldier earns 2.5 days of leave, although you are able to get some days off without using your leave credit by going through chain of command and just asking.

Yes. The amount of time off you get begins with zero and on rare occasions is somewhat increased according to your superiors desires.
