i have curly hair cause i am black and puertorican and my parents don't like me to straighten my hair. i want it really bad how could i get my parents to get my hair straightened?

..................just show your mom pictures like these. these are teenagers with hairstyles that are cute, but not too grown-up looking. which is what your mom may be afraid of. so just try to convince her that you can have straigh hair without looking too grown-up like in these photo's.......good luck .....:-)

Why don't you start by asking your parents if you can go to a salon to have it professionally blown out? See how that works first. I tend to agree with your parents if you want it chemically straightened. It will only damage your hair. Unless it is ridiculously kinky and unmanageable, a permanent straightening is not the answer. Another option is straightening balm.

Talk to them about it and explain that you really don't want to wear pigtails anymore,and you think straightened hair looks better.In this situation there's not much you can do.If you can't convince your parents How about you experiment with hairstyles while you still have curly hair?you never know,you might find a hair style that you love,without having to straighten your hair.Or buy a hair magazine and look at pictures with curls.Good luck

I am so sorry that you still have to wear pig tails that is like torture. What i would do is make a list of reasons why you should be able to get your hair straightened explain all of the reasons and be ready with info for questions they may ask. If that still doesn't work try to figure out a way to do it yourself.

It is better for your hair to work for it instead of against it. Find cute hairstyles that go with what you have. The money for straightening would go a long way towards nice hair 'goodies' and supplies.

Everyone wants what they don't have. Different color/texture. People with straight hair want perms and fry their hair.

Why you can do anything with your hair you don't need anyone to tell you what to do. Unless there your parents but still your almost a teenager I suggest you have a little FAMILY MEETING and say I am almost a teenager I should pick out my own hair styles

haha how about dont use a straightening iron instead use a blow dryer and blow out ur curlks.. then ur rents can get mad.. plus u dont have 2 wear pigtails and i think pigtails r cute im way older than 12 istill wear them sometimes!

if persuading them doesnt work try somthing new with the pigtails and make it your own =. own the hair and make a great outfit to bring out what u have done to ur hair!

i had to do that,what u should do is first convince ur parents to get ur hair texturized or flat iron it.Don't perm ur hair.It will only ruin ur hair.U can also try diffrent hairstyles like buns,afro puffs,or curl ur hair to get away from the pigtails.

tell them that you'll get solid ceramic straighteners not coated ones (better for your hair) and use heat protection spray so it won't damage your hair. tony & guy is good.
