friend of mine is currently awaiting his US Permanent residentence but wants to travel to Hawaii. I think since hawaii is part of the US and he currently has permission to stay in the US while application is being processed. Do you go through immigration in hawaii for a normal flight from Seattle to hawaii?
Thanks

Hawaii is a state just like California or New York. There are no customs and immigration on a domestic flight.

You do not go through immigration when you fly in to Hawaii from another US airport. Hawaii is just another state. It's no different than flying to Florida

I love this question!!! As everyone has previously stated Hawaii is a state and even though it happened in 1959, people still act like we are a foreign country. So yes!

Don't believe any of the previous...To go to Hawaii, you will first need a valid passport, 5 copies of your birth certificate, a clear police record, 12 copies of your finger prints, DNA samples, a written thesis as to why you want to go, drug tests, vaccinations against malaria and sunburns, a couple machine guns in case you get attacked on the way, drivers license including cars, planes and wheel chairs and a strong constitution since all flights being grounded, you will have to swim...
I hope I answered correctly your brilliant question..good luck...uhm..may be you could pack a couple bazookas as well just in case you get bored but you'll decide.

You can travel to Hawaii, just like you can travel from California to Oregon...
You cross a STATE border... not a national border.
