*We are not business casual, only the supervisors have to be. We, however can not wear flip flops; shorts; tank tops that are not 3 fingers wide etc. But do these count as flip flops?..I don't know that they do or don't. It would be pointless to call in and ask as they have far more important issues, but I don't want to get in trouble.

Usually the rule is if you have to ask then don't wear it! I know what you mean though, if those shoes had a heel they would be fine but since they don't they're considered flip flops, I'd not wear them just in case, or if they're not really "strict" then I would say you may be ok, but if you don't have to why chance it, ya know!

The picture didn't come up but, if the shoes do not have backs to them and there is a thong that goes between your big toe and the next one, they are usually considered "flip flops" -- it doesn't matter what they cost. A flat or healed sandle with some style of ankle strap should be okay.

These are very cute and they are not flip flops, but I think still not work appropriate. Where I work, there is a no open toe show policy.

I would have to say that those do count as flip flops. But I do think they are cute. I could wear those on my job, though.

Those are totally cute, but I don't think I'd wear them to work. Usually if there is a rule like that at a workplace it's because your employer doesn't want you to get hurt on the job, either by having shoes that are too open (it's surprising what you can drop on your foot!!) or shoes that are easy to trip on. So wear them on your day off instead. :)

I say no. I work in a casual office and I wouldn't wear those to work. A good rule of thumb is to never wear shoes to work that have something going in between your toes.

they are very cute, though!

Flip flops are not appropriate for any job, casual or otherwise.

Technically, yes, these are flipflops, just really fancy ones. You might be able to get away with it, but in business situations it's usually better to err on the side of professionalism, and wear more substantial and conservative sandals or shoes.
