According to the 2006 County Census, the average drive time for Livingson Co, Michigan was 35 minutes one way. This is primarily because our county doesn't have many jobs.
For me, one way is between 45 minutes and 1 hour and 30 minutes (55 miles one way)

I say the average is between 45 minutes and an hour. Right now mine is 30 minutes, but I have had some commutes that were a little more than an hour and a half.

I stay 8 miles from the centre. On a whats up with the wind in the back of me, i will get into city in 40 - 40 5 minutes. i'd say an hour and a 0.5 is acceptable. I surely have had to try this on activities reckoning on the place i'm working. I telecommute. My commute time is as long as it takes me to walk from my bed to my computer, so maybe...10 seconds.
The average time for this city is about 45-60 minutes. And that is one way, not round trip.

right now i commute a short 6 miles. but anyone from Atlanta knows this is either 6 minutes or 6 hours...believe me Atlanta traffic is the worst.

I drive to the municipal garage, and walk to the bus stop which takes me into NYC Port Authority Bus Terminal from NJ. Then I walk to the E train (3 stops) to 5th Avenue & walk 1.5 blocks. Normally, takes me an hour, when traffic is rough or there are problems, anywhere from 1.5 to 2 hrs.

30 mins is probably the avg for driving people.
longer on buses and trains.
