Why do (some) people suddenly find religion once they're imprisoned? What does that make religion if not a crutch, which is simply a tool for coping?

I suspect the reason convicts are permitted to keep cats is because cats are comparatively low-maintenance and help to calm the prisoners. I'm in favor of that AS LONG AS NO ANIMAL-ABUSE OCCURS.

Have a cat, never been to prison.

Take your head out of your rump, you might be able to see more clearly.

PS- I have a dog, too. Cats are much less maintenance.
