That is the thing, we didnt evolve from cats because in order for something to evolve the other speices has to die out. My science teacher tought me that and I was like so taken back by that but it is true. So we did not evolve from monkeys or cats. That would be cool if we evolved from cats though, I love cats:)

things evolved in different ways, like some became lions and some became tigers further down the line it would be radically different, also some stayed the same. Actually if you must know, when we were not humans, cats were not cats. Cats were a feline ancestor like a saber tooth tiger and humans were a primate ancestor like cro magnon or homohunchis"TM. It was much farther back were they shared a common link in the mammal family. That original connection between us is not a cat, likely a four legged water mammal similar to a beaver but with a more basic and primitive physical self. too much information sorry.

You didn't evolve from a cat. You and cats shared a common ancestor, but then you each evolved in your own direction.

Evolution is not linear, it branches out in all directions. So you did not directly evolve from a cat, but you and a cat share a common ancestor further back in time.

A strain of a species might well evolve due to extreme local stimuli but that doesn't negate the possibility that other strains did not mutate or develop particular characteristics. So your supercat might well exist, adapted to the forests of the Cairngorms whilst your ordinary moggy still curls up by the fire. It is not likely that homo sapiens ever was related to felis catus in any way other than they are both mammilian.

uhmmm.....you evolved from a cat? okay...................well...... humans evolved from monkeys and there are still monkeys, so i guess not all monkeys (or cats in your case) evolved into humans. i still dont get how you evolved from a cat. oh well................
