From my last question I can see that it is apparent that we all can agree that Jesus did exist. We also can agree that he did teach of many great things, be it from the son of God or of a profit. For the most part I did not see much hatred from those who answered but kindness and praise. Why is it that we fight amongst ourselves then? What ever our religion is it surely does not show hatred towards another Christian or church? Why can we not come together as you all have done for me? This is all I have to say.

Very good question, and I have wondered it myself. As Bahai, I believe in Unity of all religions. There is one GOD, and all the religions talk of him. I was born Hindu, went to Catholic school for six years, and experienced bomblast due to religious war in my city. I gave up religion since it stood for the cause of disunity. Individually investigated religions about their view on UNITY, WAR, SPIRITUALITY, and thats how I became a Bahai.

Abdu'l-Bahá says: 'If religion be the cause of disunity, then irreligion is surely to be preferred.' (Compilations, Bahiyyih Khanum, p. 202)

We perceive in what numerous ways man has been able to bend the powers of nature to his will. How grievous it is to see how man has used his God-given gift to frame instruments of war, for breaking the Commandment of God 'Thou shalt not kill', and for defying Christ's injunction to 'Love one another'.

God gave this power to man that it might be used for the advancement of civilization, for the good of humanity, to increase love and concord and peace. But man prefers to use this gift to destroy instead of to build, for injustice and oppression, for hatred and discord and devastation, for the destruction of his fellow-creatures, whom Christ has commanded that he should love as himself!

I hope that you will use your understanding to promote the unity and tranquillity of mankind, to give enlightenment and civilization to the people, to produce love in all around you, and to bring about the universal peace.

Study the sciences, acquire more and more knowledge. Assuredly one may learn to the end of one's life! Use your knowledge always for the benefit of others; so may war cease on the face of this beautiful earth, and a glorious edifice of peace and concord be raised. Strive that your high ideals may be realized in the Kingdom of God on earth, as they will be in Heaven. (Abdu'l-Baha, Paris Talks, p. 42)

I am not Christian, I am Buddhist. I find it positively silly that people argue over religion. Religion is generally a lifestyle for people, it runs how they live. A lot of people think everyone should live like them, that other people's ideas are wrong, and that by 'helping' them convert they are only serving them with good. I agree with the person who said that it all comes down to ego and pride...

**prophet**

Money is the new religion all around the world. People care more about money the others lives. it is a sad day when some one would take $$ over saving a human life.
I have many Christian friends and we often don't talk about religion because we also have Atheist friends but when we do talk about religion we talk with respect and not make fun of each other.

Thank you for that. It is happening. Take a look at the book emotional intelligence it might be good. People are basically not informed about emotions and so are not in their right minds. Forgive them for that. Things are changing and it will be rapid when it comes and it's already here.

I was raised as a Protestant Christian and now am a Catholic Christian.

I hold no hate or anger to others, not other Christians or even non-Christians.

You make a good point, we cannot be good examples by showing hate and intolerance.

Peace!

Power and money. If I want your money i will not endorse another's religion. It is not religion that stinks, it is the people that use it for their own profit. The few that really do know God don't worry about what religion you believe in.

There will only be true peace on the Earth during the millennium, and that is when the believers in Jesus are living here with Him for a thousand years. Its in Revelation in the bible.

I can respect those Christians who respect me and mine. I have lots of Christian friends who do just that. What I will NOT tolerate is someone insulting me, my faith and my soul in front of my own children. I don't think Jesus would have wanted that either.

If we could figure out the answer to that question, you could avoid/end most of the wars on this planet.
