It makes no sense, the only people that would say that Catholics are not Christians are those who do so out of either blind hate or ignorance.
As for the Mormons, I don't know do they believe in the Divinity of Jesus? (not sarcasm, I really don't know)
Peace!

Ignorance. If Catholics are not Christian, then obviously offshoots of the Catholic Church are not Christian either. Can a bad tree bear good fruit? Which would mean there is no such thing as Christianity today. Anyone with an elementary knowledge of Christian history recognizes that there was no Christian Church on earth but the Catholic Church for more than a thousand years after Christ.

To be Christian means that you accept Christ as your savior and strive to live a good life as he did. Guess that makes Catholics christian. Escpeciall since (as someone else pointed out), Catholicism was the sole christian religion for hundreds of years after the death of Christ.
People who say otherwise are brain washed by idiots like Jack chick, or just regurgitate whatever pablum is fed to them, and never research it. plus they don't believe the actual practicing Catholics who try to point out the fallacies in their "beliefs". Pretty sad, actually. Why not use your energy for more positive means other than trying to tear down other Christians??
When I say "you/your", I don't mean the poster in particular, but those folks that we're discussing.

A friend of mine in college was raised as a Catholic and was told by her "Christian" roommates that she was going to Hell because she wasn't a real Christian. Something about her worshiping the Pope and the Virgin Mary because she was a Catholic. It really does not make a heck of a lot of sense to me.

Because a lot of people who believe in exclusivist theories of Christianity seem to take as the basis of their theories not Christ, but the Bible. This seems like that makes their religion more Bible-anity, so you might argue that these people aren't Christians either. Arguing that a religion is not Christian because it has extra-Biblical traditions is a non sequitur.

What is a Christian? A born again believer is a Christian. It would seem to me to be near impossible for anyone to become born again in the Catholic Church as they carry on with a lot of "mumbo jumbo"
The Lord will destroy the Catholic Church during the tribulation for the reasons given in Revelation Ch.17 V1-9

I wouldn't say that.
Some say Catholics aren't Christian. I am a Christian but not a Catholic. I don't agree with everything to do with the Catholic faith, but are they in God's favor? That's for God to say, not me.

I was raised to believe this way (I am atheist now). It was because the Catholic church teaches that you earn grace by doing good works, and lose it for doing bad. The protestant Christian church teaches that you are saved by God's grace alone, that nothing we do can alter our standing with God, it is only by accepting the blood of Jesus.

Mormons and Catholics have unbiblical rituals (more so mormons).
Mormons: polygamy, baptising the dead, the book of mormon, current day saints/prophets, Jesus and Satan are literal sons of God, ect.
Catholics: you only enter heaven through baptism, venial and mortal sins, praying to saints and Mary, purgatory, the pope, men superior to women.
