Its hard to know how many you will need... Every baby is different, and they may grow at a different rate. If your baby grows fast they may only be in the 0-3 size for a month and 1/2! My advice is just to get a few, like 5 onsies, 5 sleep n plays (take into concern your climate and time of year) of 0-3 size to start and you can always buy more as you need. Also, if you are having a shower you are sure to get plenty of clothes as gifts then!

They SLAM through newborn and 0-3 generally. My son went 3 months in three to six, and seems to be skipping through 6-9 and can wear a lot of 12 months stuff.

You never know how quick each child will grow, just focus on onsies for each size, with little things here and there, and buy the bulk of each as baby grows into it.

Otherwise you'll be like me, with all these clothes that are now off season for the size. He's a winter baby, so i figured he'd wear 12 months in winter... NOT in august. lol.

My last born, was born at 8 pounds 10 ounces and only wore 0-3 for maybe a month. He stayed in 3-6 for about 2 months and on to 6-9 for 6 months. He started wearing 12 months at 9 months and he is now 19 months and wears a 3T and some 4T. I would only get like 10 things for each of them. You can always wash and dry them and if you need more go out and get them.

If you are going to keep the baby in sleepers or ones in the house buy A LOT OF THEM b/c the baby will need to be changed like 3-times a day (if you want your baby clean and dry) My baby girl stayed in sizes 3-6 and 6-12 for a long time. P.S First baby also. diapers size 3 she was in for like
4-5months. When buying cloths for your young one remember to go though them b/c they are cut different. like my baby was 6 months and she could fit some clothing that said 12 months and some of the 12 months she out grow at 6 months and never even took the tag off.
Good Luck and it's a lot of fun and hard work.
P.S take CPR, First aid. My baby was coking last night on her own throw up. good thing I know what to due. she is 8 months now. Never leave the baby alone. I almost left her to go bathroom and she was on the floor next to me. Lucky i did not leave her there alone.
