For starters, in the US you can't legally get tattooed at 15. Most of the time it's not legal or practiced if it is until 18. Never ever get tattooed any where other than a sterlized licensed shop. If they cut any corners, refuse to answer any questions or you are uncomfortable at all do not go there. They should open needles infront of you and explain whatever you ask to be explained.

As far as piercings, you are still growing at that young of an age and it could shift but the super tight shirts will cause more of a problem for the healing process than growing will. If you aren't sure, don't do anything, ask her for a rain check and check local laws. If you really want to get your belly button pierced (for pregnancy you are suggested to take the ring out anyway and can usually get it back in) wear shirts that aren't as tight, the tightness will cause extra friction and make it take longer to heal. Piercings aren't infectious if you clean them properly and don't overly play with them while they are healing. Put off a tattoo and look more into the piercing if she says it's a one time offer. Good luck.

-Good jobs are still attainable with tattoos and piercings, placement is key. And stop saying that all tattoos don't age well. That depends on the person and how they take care of them selves as well as the tattoo. Very few places on the female body stretch during pregnancy compared to how many places are available to tattoo. Attractive or not is your opionion and "when" you regret it may not even happen. Tattoos do not cause cancer- big fat myth. The ink doesn't contain lead anymore people! She asked for advice not BS.

Belly ring! :)

If you get pregnant, there are special rings you can wear in it that won't let it get infected when your belly starts to stretch. As long as you take a shower every day, you can clean the piercing in the shower with antibacterial soap and there's no worried about infection! It's easy to care for and really cute.

I definitely wouldn't recommend a tattoo ... something you think is cute now when you're so young might be ugly to you in 30 years, or maybe even when you get to college! At 15, you have a million milestones to hit in your life that are gonna shape who you are and what you think about things. If you turn 18 and decide you hate the belly ring, take it out! No biggie. If you turn 18 and decide you hate the tattoo ... you're outta luck. And if you don't even know what you want it to be yet, your risk of disliking it in the future is even higher. Only get a tattoo if you feel strongly about it and know that it's what you want.

So I definitely vote belly ring! Good luck! :)

You can take a ring out and the piecing will even close just like with an ear ring. Tats are forever and if you ever decide that you want one you can get it then. Why should you feel pressured to get either one though.
The thing is that you should only get a tattoo or piercing if it is something you actually want to do.

get your belly button done.
there are several reasons i would say that over the tat.
1. alllllll the girls have their belly buttons pierced, so... i dunno, you might feel left out or something if you don't have yours done.
2. even though you think you KNOW what tat you want, you might even be SOOOO sure of it, but the fact is, you're 15... what you like now, what you are ABOUT now will change over the next 10 years, drastically. I'd hate for you to get a tat you end up not liking and having to get it covered up later....
3. belly button piercings DON'T stretch during pregnancy. i mean, you may have to remove it... but it won't become infected b/c you get pregnant... that doesn't even make sense. if anything, a tat will stretch during pregnancy and you KNOW that will look nasty...
4. you don't even sound like you're sure what you'd get if you did get a tat and THAT is the biggest indicator that you should go with the belly button ring...
**you don't get a tat, just to "get a tat".... you get a tattoo done becasue you WANT a piece of art documented on your body.
...hope i helped, hon!
...get a navel ring, it will look so cute!

Don't Get a Tattoo Because You Probably Won't like it in about 5 years.

Your 15 You Shouldn't Be Thinking About Getting Pregnant.

I love tattoos and am not a piercing fan, but b/c of your age I say the belly button piercing.

Hate to tell you this but most places will not tattoo under 18 even WITH a parent's signature. They will only pierce so you may not have a choice.

Why do you need either? Please hold off on doing either one. As everyone here is saying, tattoos don't age well and the belly button ring can get infected and/or cause problems as well. Millions of people go through life without doing either and we're all happy and well adjusted! Go buy some new clothes or get a new hairstyle. Why do something that's so permanent? 15 is too young to make a lifelong decision.

i have a belly ring and i just got my first tattoo yesterday. i would get the piercing first. you can always take the ring out if you decide you don't want it anymore. i would wait and make sure you really wanted a tattoo before you got one just because you had permission to. plus, my tattoo hurt so much more than a little piercing.

if I were your mother you wouldn't be thinking of any of this but I'm not so if you must go for the belly button ring. it's something you can get rid of if you tire of it. A tattoo is for life and as you said you've almost made up your mind - you MIGHT REGRET IT. you'll probably regret both anyway.but at least one is a reversible choice.

the belly ring because trust me any tattoo that you pick now you will most likely regret later, you almost never like your ideas that you had while young. The belly ring can be taken out later if you don't like it.

I think your still too young for both but hey..Im not your mom.
