The Beatles.

If we're allowed to list orchestras a la Mr. Spock here, then there are too many to list. I've had bad experiences with the Chicago Symphony, though. (Who decided to let Bobby McFerrin *conduct* a concert back in the late 90s? That was one of the worst calls of all time.) The most professional orchestra was probably the Berlin Philharmonic under Karajan, but Karajan gets dull after a while, and he makes me long for more dynamic conductors. Heck, even Bernstein (who did a lovely version of Beethoven's 9th symphony).

Overall, maybe Furtwaengler or Solti, and as a Wagner fan I have a thing for Hans Knappertsbusch, who did a great "Ring" and the definitive "Parsifal."

Band or musical artist?

Bands: The Police, Evanescence, 311, The Gorillaz, Afro Celt Sound System, The Baldwin Brothers (Chicago based), Ben Folds Five, Blue Man Group, Garbage, Odium (local), Wreckage of the Modern City (local), Pink Floyd, Supreme Beings of Leisure, System of a Down, and They Might Be Giants.

Musical artists: Sting, Peter Gabriel, Alanis Morrisette (did I spell it right? I never get it right), Christina Aguilera, k.d. lang, and Paul Simon.

Don't ask me questions about music. I can't pick.

At the moment, that would be a mostly-folk group from somewhere in western Canada called The Clumsy Lovers. Talented songwriters, accomplished musicians and funny lyricists -- what's not to like.
