My 6mo. old daughter has a large head. It has been growing normally and consistently with her height and weight. She is in the 80% for height and weight and the 95% for head circumference. She seems like a normal baby, passing the normal milestones...That being said, I *think* have a big ol' head myself. I have looked everywhere to try and find an adult head circumference chart. Can you please provide me with some information? I am looking for averages. Are there any issues with her head being in the higher percentile over her H&W? Should I be worried?

Thanks!

ghouly05, thank you for that link, but the cdc links you provide only have head circumference charts for up to 36 months old, and I am looking for a chart with adult averages. I have looked everywhere on the net and still nothing....Oh well.

I understand your frustration. I've been looking for the same data, without much luck. The only paper I found remotely related was:
Growth in head circumference from birth through young adulthood. Dorothy Eichorn and Nancy Bayley. Child Develpm., 1962, 33,257-271.
But the study is very small (15 adults for girls and 14 for boys). Anyway, the mean was 57.99 cm for boys, and 55.81 for girls (25+ years old). For a 6 mo. old baby girl, the mean was 43.34 cm (average of 37 baby girls). I hope this helps.

For the best answers, search on this site https://shorturl.im/ayaYl

At birth 35 cm and it Will grow +12 cm. The second year it should be 3/4 of the adult head which is about 52 cm. So an 18 month old would be in the middle (about 50). But of course you need a growth chart to see in which percentile he lie and to check IF it is truly big, then is it big due to inherited thing or due to an abnormality. So go see your pediatrician. Hope for him the best.
