i suppose that it depends on the state that you live in..however i know for a fact that where i live, people arent even allowed to get tattoos until they are 18 without conset from a parent or guardian..but when i was 17 i went out of state and they said it needs to be a parent or gaurdian..u should call a tattoo shop and ask...but dont call the shop u plan on going to, bcuz if they say no & u still feel like sneaking to do it they will know..lol. have fun, but dont do anything ur guna regret

You can't have someone sign for you, you have to be 18 to get a tattoo. If you want piercings you can be under 18 but they have to have proof that the person is your parent or legal gardian. You are just gonna have to wait it out.

Definitely has to be a parent. Depending on where you live, you might not be able to get one at all under 18. I live in Pennsylvania and you have to be 16, I think, with parent's permission.
When your parent goes with you, they'll be required to show a photo ID and sign a consent form. You'll have to show photo ID and sign, too.

it has to be a parent or legal guardian. Saying it's your brother or sister will not work. Some shops won't even tattoo with a parent's permission.
