About 9 years ago, I quit my job, packed a bag, bought a greyhound bus ticket to Murfreesboro, Tennessee and left everything behind. I walked out of my completely furnished apartment and never had a regret.
Before I left, I went to the library and did some research on the best city to move to. Murfreesboro was at the time the fastest growing city. The climate is great. It's right near country living. Everything seemed perfect. And I didn't know a soul in Tennessee. That's what I wanted - a complete new start.
Today I live in a cabin in the woods of West Tennessee. It's beautiful. This country life is really great. I have a wonderful partner that I met my first day off the bus at the Salvation Army. We've been together for 9 years now and I'm living proof that a drastic change is sometimes a good thing.

Yes, I've done it 3 times in my 50-some years, major changes. Did it 2 of the 3 times all by myself. That included leaving really long term relationships and moving to another state where I only knew a couple of people. It's a decision that's hard, but when you look into job opportunities and weight the benefits of the move versus staying put, when you pray for guidance, making the move can be a regular regeneration period in your life.

Yes I've done it a couple times. I felt I just needed to get away for a bit so I went on some working holidays. The first time I decided to, I sent out resumes all over the country to hotels (didn't care where I went) and I got a job offer at a hotel in Banff, AB. After my contract was up, I still wasn't ready to go home so I applied for cruise ships and spent 6 months working on cruise ships in the Caribbean and Alaska. Best experiences of my life so far.

Sometimes life seems like it has it's up and downs. I'm getting to take my first real vacation in three years time, next week. I don't like the fact that I'm getting my husband and I further into debt by taking this trip...but, life had been hard lately. My father had his second heart by-pass surgery and a brain tumor removed last year. I've also had to testify twice at two different murder trials for the same guy.
Yes, sometimes we all need changes in order to find peace from the crazy, hectic troubles life can bring and sometimes that requires us to do some things we really don't want to do (like getting further into debt and not meaning illegal things, of course!)

Eight years ago I quit my job and went to Europe to teach English for a year. I did it on a whim. I was feeling stuck in a rut and felt like I needed a major change. It was rejuvenating. It ripped me out of the negativity I was feeling because I didn't have time to think about it. I've been feeling like doing something like that again recently. I feel like life is too short to stay in a job or environment that is mentally draining to you. Give it a try! You may be on your way to a new adventure.

I do, all the time! Sometimes you just need a change. I am a free spirit and I have moved 22 times in my short 31 years. Mine is do to boredom and wanting to experience something/place new. But sometimes, you have to look at the problems makeing you want to RUN AWAY from where you are to make sure they don't follow you.

Absolutely!
It's wise to check into these things before making any hasty decisions, but YES - it helps. Sometimes, we get caught in a routine, and need to 'shake things up' a bit to create a new atmosphere for ourselves. It has worked for me. It may seem scary at first, and even cause you to be depressed, but it will end up being the best move you ever made. Go for it! Just plan wisely. Good luck!

I have reinvented myself several times. I won't say I am happier because of it but I do feel I have progressed along a certain axis.
Now, I am in the process of reinvention, once again. I actually am enjoying the process though I have a financial cushion that affords me to be more selective this time around.

If you're not happy withthe way things are, then change is good. I moved from a deadend relationship and job and now I am very happy with where I am, both in my relationship and my career. Good luck to you!
