In the bible in the book of Genesis, it says "Be fruitful and multiply" but then later in the bible it says you must not do sexual things to any woman.

Oh and by the way, it did say that. It said the 144,000 were the ones who did nothing sexual to them, therefore, you shouldn't do it.

Be fruitful and multiply applies to men and women within the bonds of marriage.

Brady,
I am wondering where in the Bible that it might say anything about not doing ANYTHING sexual with any woman. I have read the entire Bible and must have missed that part.
What you are proposing is that the Bible warned of having any kind of sex at any time. I do not believe that is in my
Bible(s).
Can you show me where it does?
I will return in about 1 hour.
EDIT: Thank you for the clarification.
According to what I've learned, the 144,000 are people from the tribes named (erroneously referred to as 'Jewish' by many commentators) whom God set aside for the purpose of spreading the Gospel during the Great Tribulation. Some call them the 'Firstfruits' of the saved, though that would be a study into the Old Testament that would make this post incredibly long!
But I think that it would be important to note that they are not even aware of who they are until that time comes. Most people who are descendants from those tribes: 12,000 from each, are not even aware that they are who they are. The Jews in the number might know that they are Jews ( Judah) , but the rest have thousands of years of history to uncover to learn that they are from the tribe of Gad (for instance).
But know that God knows who they are, and will separate them according to the number named, and have a special performance that He sets before them.
It is not something that all Christians or Jews are to do; to stay a virgin, in fact, that isn't what God told Adam and Eve to do
( as you have stated).

The Bible specifically records God telling Adam and Eve to be fruitful and multiply before they have sinned against God (Genesis 1:28). This means that pregnancy and child bearing are good things. God never commands us to do evil and that God intended them before the irrespective of the fall. The only thing the Bible says is that child bearing will be accompanied with greater pain as a result of original sin (Genesis 3:16).
The verse you are referring to is telling the people to prepare them self's.Because the Lord said, "I am going to come to you in a dense cloud, so that the people will hear me speaking with you and will always put their trust in you."
As well as told them to be clean. This was something they were suppose to do to remain clean in spirit before he came to show himself. Moses went down and he told the people,""Prepare yourselves for the third day. Abstain from sexual relations." The Lord came on the third day..I think this is the Scripture you are talking about.
But Their is clarification about sexual relations that we should follow in our daily life's.
Leviticus 18; 1-29.
Hope this cleared the air for you.

It's not "any woman". The list is very specific. Try reading the Bible carefully. Here's the reference. Leviticus 18:1-20

Noot sure which verse you are talking about when it comes to not doing sexual things to a woman, but it might just mean outside of marriage. I would have to see the actual verse.

Not sure where it says to not do sexual things to ANY woman. It doesn't want you having sex with "just any woman." I think you might have mis-read that part.
The Bible wants you to have LOTS of kids with your MARRIED woman. See, that way, you raise them in accordance with The Bible, and make the church bigger.

What verse are you refering to, when talking about refraining from sexual things with women?
Be fruitful and multiply meant to populate the earth. Sex was only considered necessary when the need to procreate was prevalent.
As far as sexual things - that could be Paul refering to abstinence and an ascetic lifestyle because he truly believed that Jesus was coming back in his lifetime (in Corinthians, Thessalonians, etc). OR it could be refering to having sexual relations outside of marriage in both the NT & OT...
So basically, sex only to populate the world, unless you're Paul who thought the world was coming to an end in his lifetime when Jesus returned.

Uhh, where does it say that second part? You're making it up. Paul in Corinthians said that, in order to serve the Lord, a few might choose to stay single. Nobody has to do that, thought. We are still to be fruitful and multiply.
