Hello bongernet.. :)
Yes..you are correct We are the church..but we congregate at a building to fellowship with other believers..the disicples also fellowshiped with one another in their homes..
Acts 2
Life among the Believers
43 ¶ And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.
44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common;
45 and sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.
46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,
47 praising God, and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

I don't believe you should go to Church if you come home and don't even try to improve your life. How many people actually listen to the priests and try to think about it when they come home. If you can read Bible at home and try to follow what Jesus want you to do, this world would be such a better place. I call people who go to Church....Sunday people." They were taught to go to church every Sunday and it has become a ritual for them.

I've asked that same question myself to people that go to church and they say, "We are suppose to assemble ourselves. The Lord said assemble ourselves together." Then I come back and say, "Well I would like to assemble myself with others sometimes but not inside a building. I like outdoor events such as pow-wows and cultural gatherings because our heart is where God lives and not inside a building!" Then they look at me like I'm a heathen.

Hebrews 10:25-26 "Let us not forsake our gathering together....as is the habit of some. But even more so as we see the Day (of the Lord) approaching"
It is a command of God and a priviledge to gather together with people of like & precious faith.

The bible says to believers , not to forsake the assembling of ourselves together with other believers and even more so as you see the day approaching. The easiest way to assemble is at church.

I was going to say what primoa just said. Its like saying, why do ppl go to clubs to dance together when they can do it in the privacy of their own homes? Why? because you share a likeness with the ppl who surround you, us christians want to worship who we believe in and want to be surrounded by ppl who share our same belief.

Because the church needs money, and they can't get it if you don't show up. So of course they are suppose to go to church. Can't have religion without money these days.
