Yes you will get bloated and probably feel irritable and you can start to have other digestive problems. The stuff in you will just get harder as the moisture is resorbed by the colon, and then the stuff will be harder to pass--ore else you might have constipation alternating with diarrhea.

Drink plenty of water (not sugary or alcholic beverages because they are dehydrating) Drinking hot water with a little lemon and a small bit of salt and doing simple yoga postures that put pressure on the abdomen (as simple as sitting on the knees and bending forward or sitting in a squatting posture) in the AM is helpful. Eat fruit , leafy vegetables, grains, nuts, and seeds (more than red meat or fatty foods which are constipating), add healthy oils, such as olive oil to your diet and even consider taking a tablespoon of flax seed oil or something like that (note that flax seed oil MUST be refrigerated and used within its expiration time otherwise it can be harmful). Learn relaxation and visualization techniques to relax your lower digestive tract. Exercise.

Yes, constipation will affect your body weight. Constipation can cause tummy bloating, & abdominal pain, which isn't fun. When you're constipated, your food is digested but doesn't pass through. Waste is poison, & if the waste is not properly removed from the body, it can wrap around the intestines, & rot . (happened to my son) To avoid constipation, eat lots of fiber. (cereals high in fiber, graham crackers, & drink lots of water & daily drink a cold glass of prune juice) If you have recurring constipation, you need to be referred to a Gastroenterologist. You may have IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) It's treatable & not life shattering!!!

When you're constipated, your weight will go up as you are full of poop. The food you eat just sits in your digestive system and waits until you can unblock yourself. Yes, you may become bloated as your body is full of waste products it can't get rid of. See a doctor if you are constipated often.
