I might be living in India for some years after I marry my fiance in Bangalore. I am a USA citizen and I read that after seven years, you can become Indian citizen. Although, I realized India doesn't agree to dual citizenship...so I would lose my USA citizenship, and I really don't want to do that. My question is: Do you have a choice whether or not to go for Indian citizenship or is it a requirement after residing there for so long? Also how many years do you have to reside in India if so?

Continue living as long you get resident immigration/visa from Indian government/home department (Ministry of Home Affairs of India not External affairs), which you will get being married to an Indian, need not go in for Indian citizenship. Indian citizenship provides only citizenship rights such as to vote or get job in Indian security agencies or public services open to only Indian citizen etc otherwise you can do any other job or business open to all even non-citizens. All the kids born to you will be Indian citizen by virtue of born in India & even because their father is Indian.

Hey, don't stay in India for such a long time & then u don't have to change your citizenship. Ask your fiance to get a job in the US & he can opt for a greencard. Moreover its very hot in India & u might face some troubles adjusting to this climate.
Also the number of crime is increasing by the day & ladies are afraid to go out alone even at daytime. Anyway, its your decision. All the best!

No you do not need to become an Indian citizen ever; it is entirely your choice. You will need to renew your Residence Permit every 5 years or so, at the designated centre closest to you, usually attached to a Police HQ. Go to the Govt of India Ministry of External Affairs website ( get it from Google search) and click on the relevant link - its called Foreigners Registration or something like that, dont remember exactly.

Go to Mexico and then sneak into US by crossing border through skipping over the customs and immigration officers and then stay put somewhere for the next three or five years when next round of Amnesty happens. Was this what you had in mind? Otherwise, you knew it, there was no "easiest way" to get US visa, didn't you?
