tell her that you all can not choose which dog will be the dominant one. The dogs do this themselves. They were just playing and if she has a problem tell her to keep her dog on her lawn.

What she wants as far as dominancy goes is not necessarily the way it will be. There is going to be an Alpha dog in any circumstance. The dogs will decide this on their own. We have nothing to say about (as humans I mean). If they are aggressive towards each other then just not let them play together anymore. However, teaching your dog that she/he cannot dominate in every circumstance would be helpful...but I still think your neighbor has a major problem.

I would tell her that since it's your yard you would prefer to let them work out their pecking order on their own. Since technically it's your dogs home turf your dog will naturally be in charge. Just like if your dog goes over to the other yard then the other dog will naturally be in charge cause it's the other dogs turf.
Really I'd tell your neighbor not to worry about it. Unless the pup decides it wants to be dominate there's no way you can force it. Some dogs are just naturally more submissive or dominant while many others really don't give a hoot. If she remains rude to you like that I'd suggest you assert yourself, it is your home she's imposing on and good manners aren't just for puppies and dogs.

Sadly humans do not really get to choose who will be dominant and who will not. (Other than the fact that the humans rule).
Frankly, it is my opinion that a lot of the issues that arise in multi-dog situations are due to human interference. The dog gets the feeling "My leader has my back" and may push where it would normally not dare.
In my work with dogs that have aggression issues I have witnessed dogs who were getting along nicely in a group situation suddenly become more assertive with the other animals when their human walked in the room.
There is nothing "wrong" with a dog who is on the lower end of the pecking order. Even humans have their own heirarchy.. and there is nothing WRONG or less valuable being a receptionist rather than a CEO, a nursing assistant rather than a doctor. Often it is the one on the bottom end of the pecking order who is making sure life keeps moving along.

I would say that this is something dogs work out themselves and there is no way to make one dominant over the other. It's up to nature. Your neighbor is a dope.

WHAT?!?!!?
You can't make the dog dominate it has to show it's pecking order to the other dog. And the puppy has no clue yet of this pecking order they were just playing right? Find another dog to have your pup play with.

Depend on if you want to keep peace with your neighbors. They are rude, it is you lawn not theirs. You can just tell them to keep their dog off you lawn.

I would nicely let them know that if she doesn't want the dogs to play, to please keep hers in her own yard, so they don't have to worry about a dominance issue.
