Can anyone suggest a good chardonnay wine that is not to dry or acidic. Mellow, fruity, buttery finish. Not to expensive. I'm tired of drinking Sutter Home and most of the others I have tried are not to my taste.

I recently visited the Hess Collection Winery in California and purchased a whole case of their Chardonnay because it was so delicious.

If you really want a good Chardonnay, you need to spend a little more money. You get what you pay for, and if you pay peanuts, you get peanuts.

Having said that, personally, I like very few Chardonnay. The reason is that many of the Chardonnay are extremely oaky and acidic and dry. The ones that I like are more buttery and creamy with citrus flavor.

I would recommend Jordan Chardonnay ($30), Critchton Hall Chardonnay ($25), Rombauer Chardonnay ($30), and Robert Mondavi Carnero Chardonnay ($25). If you really want some good Chardonnay and willing to spend the money, I would highly recommend Cakebread Chardonnay ($50), Pride Chardonnay ($50), Far Niente Chardonnay ($55), and Keisler Chardonnay ($60).

If you want to try some good Chardonnay, you will not regret spending the money. You will see the difference.

I'd recommend Franciscan, J Lohr or Chateau Ste. Michelle. I can buy any of those for under $15/bottle.

The best Chardonnay I've had was by Grgich, but this one goes for over $30/bottle.

The Italian Pinot Grigio is fairly candy and somewhat fruity, very friendly for sparkling drinker. Chardonnay, on the different hand, has a tendency to be bone dry with a average mineral aftertaste. the two might desire to be served chilled (no ice interior the glass!) and circulate properly with seafood, fowl, beef or trouble-free finger meals. i've got studied oenology for countless years and worked interior the industry continually.
