He knew he had 3 and a half years to do everything he had to do. He also knew how his life would end horribly. So many prophesies, so little time. Literally 100s of prophecies concerning him had to be fulfilled after where and how he would be born.
His main purpose was to be a perfect human ransom for mankind to glorify his Father's name. Second was to fulfill the Mosaic Law and bring it to an end. Third to establish a new organization and covenant for all of mankind, not just the Jews.
This was enough for a lifetime of work. He did it in 3 and 1/2 years.

Who are you to say Jesus of Nazaareth had no ambitions? Where you there to follow in His foot steps along side Him?
Did you bother to read those witnessing all that He had done?
He was a carpenter by trade and could have built for Himself a home but gave His all instead to walk a poverish life to teach and heal those who were hurting along the way. To bring hope to those in a lost and dark world. To bring sight to the blind and heal the lame to walk again. He died for our sins and took our place on the cross for something we should have been punished for.
You clearly don't understand the concept of who He really is.
Why don't you start with the book called "The Case for Christ." written by an former atheist set out to disprove God.
Since you don't read the Bible or believe in it more than likely.

HIs ambitions was to spread the word of God and to teach others the salvation that is there for them. He showed many He was Jesus and what prayer could do and faith. He died to save all men if they turned to God and for them to be saved and forgiven for their sins if they were faithful. What an ambition, could you do that and know you were going to be crucified for teaching the truth of God. He spoke with His father often for guidance as we all should do. He sure wasn't they only one who prayed.

Prayer is a very personal thing. As he grew and studied and taught in the Temple, he was learned in the doctrine of prayer.
Jesus never invented it, it is ingrained in the Judeo-Christian tradition.

Suspending my disbelief for a minute:
He didn't want peace on earth, he didn't want people to turn to him, he didn't want to spread the word?
Of course he had ambitions.
He was not the only one to pray; before and after his lifetime. I do not understand how you can say 'why only him'.
