I have a 54 mbps connection and when I am downloading linux (which is 3.7 gigs) at about 97-113 kbps is there anyway I can make this go faster like is I done it via internet explorer.

For one nope you can get a three party sofware to a download manget.

I honestly dont think you'll be getting 97-113 kbps from a 56K modem.
borrow a copy of the software or upgrade your tinterweb.
There are many programs that claim to speed up the internet but most just install spyware and mess with your network settings.
Never worth it.
Maybe even get a friend witha proper (hehe) internet connection to download it for you.

You have a 54Mbps wireless connection to what? Your network speed is only a fast as the weakest pipe. Think of the Internet like a series of water pipes. Doesn't matter if you have a fire hose between your PC and your Internet connection if the Internet connection is a drinking straw.

You can adjust things like your TCP window, but I don't know how to do that with Linux.

1, thats slowww, 2 why are you not using broadband ???
and linux being 3.7 gig will take ages in day time will be faster at night. Try speedbit.com or webaccelerator.google.com or www.cbs-soft.com/speedconnect.htm Hope 1 of these works for ya.

Use DAP (by speedbit), its a download accelerator so downloads from multiple resources, ensuring max speed.

Whenever I download linux I do it overnight. Just let you computer run downloading it overnight and you will have it in no time.
