Hi, im 15 and i recently lost about 2 stone (28 lbs) through doing an exercise video and walking along with the usual healthy diet. However i sort of 'fell off the wagon' as it were, and can't seem to get back into my healthy routine. Its been made harder by the fact that i've come down with a really bad cold that just won't seem to go away and so i've regularly got a bad headache, which really makes pounding away to a fitness dvd out of the question. Im also Vegetarian so im not sure if im probably lacking in loads of things which could make it easier to lose weight or get rid of my awful cold! I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas on how i could lose another 10lbs or so in the next 4 - 5 weeks without any more exercise than a good, fairly high paced, 2 hours walk 5 times a week? many thanks xx

Honey, If you're exercising (walking) for 2 hours per day, you're overdoing it!!!

No wonder you get a cold which takes so long to recover and a bad headache..........

These are symptoms of over-exercising.

Cut down your exercise (walking) time to 60 mins per session, and walk 4-5 times per week, to lose weight.

If you want to burn more calories to lose weight, walk more miles in the 60 min time slot, meaning you increase the intensity/speed of your walking.

Consistently keep to this routine and with your vegetarian diet, you should be able to lose your targeted 10lbs weight loss in about 5-6 weeks.

BTW, for that cold of yours, please take 2 tablets of vitamin C, one in the morning and one in the early evening, for a week, to ward it off.

The exercise you mention is OK. If you try to eat healthy, like:
1. milk and cereals
2. a fruit or a glass of fresh juice
3. roast chicken and rice or vegetatrian stir fry or an omelette or a sandwich or fish and boiled potatoes
4. low fat yoghurt
5. green salad,

and nothing else (no sweets, no sodas, no pizzas, no nibbling around),

I am sure you will make it

get coffee with friends to go walk as you talk and sip

Stand up each time you talk within the phone.

Choose faster-paced types of yoga such as Ashtanga or maybe Vinyasa to burn more calories while also finding a good stretch.
