For people who know mathematics, you may know that:
e^(i*pi ) + 1 = 0.
This equation proves the existence of God. The five most important quantities in mathematics come together for a single equation in such a surprising and unexpected way. This could only happen if God designed the universe so perfectly that these numbers somehow fit together.
I know that they're not the five most important quantities, and that other numbers like "phi" and "aleph null" are just as important, but I'm ignoring that because it hurts my argument.
When Euler showed this proof to Diderot, Diderot instantly converted. Diderot was better at math than anybody on this site, so if he converted after seeing this equation you all should too. It's only logical.
Now, I know that de Morgan invented this story and that Diderot didn't really convert, but I'm hoping that people stopped reading at the paragraph above and have already converted before they learn the truth.

Wow, I'm impressed. I preferred your last question, but this one is great too.
Now, I've got a question for you. Every once in a while someone comes here asking something like "Has anyone noticed the significance of the number 7?". Can you fill us in on that? What's so special about 7?
Oh, and didn't 1:1618 create the universe?
And is Woody Allen right when he says that we've been writing the numeral '4' backwards all along?

It's true; evolution, scientifically, is virtually inarguable. But many religious practices are rivaled by logical proof and yet still commonly held in conviction. Unfortunately, people will believe what they believe and in human nature you will find that it is generally a very difficult thing to change that. I find the answer to be mostly psychological - when you're brought up to believe that something is true, and this is what you're told all your life, it can be unsettling - maybe even traumatic - to someday be told that it is all a lie. Many take religion very seriously and hold it's ideas close to them because it's what they know, and for some it can be a source of mental safety. How would a person in that situation, for example, be expected to suddenly recant their beliefs? It is easy for you or me, maybe, because we aren't strong in religion. But for someone in a situation such that this is the idea with they have been brought up? Easier said than done. It seems like a simple concept if you understand evolution's probability, but in order to understand one who rejects it, we need to take a step back and try to walk in their shoes. That's the way I see it...just an opinion.

As stated by someone much more intelligent than I, Whether you call it real depends on how you define the word "real". I
personally see it as using an imaginary expression to produce a real value.
A less confusing example is "i^4 - 1 = 0". But more to the point, why must a true believer look for proof of the existence of god, is your faith that weak, grasshopper

No.
Numbers are human inventions, they only represent reality. Diderot might have been good at math, but a philosopher he wasn't. Besides, I read the whole story, and once again I'm not surprised believers lie.

Yes! Here I have more proof for God:
Let B^12 6>R be light, be a transcending matter into space, and M^^2=P12 be a harry potter fan, so if you put M^^2=P12 and B^12 6>R to equal an evolutionist, E=mc^2 xN= matter.
Therefore ^Y189G8= God.

>>This equation proves the existence of God.
No, it doesn't. It's just a beautiful theorem, due to its simplicity and the bringing together of a few popular numbers. End of story. In that sense it proves "God" no more than does the Traveling Wilburys.

It's amazing the amount of disinformation and blatant lies they are willing to spout to further their cause. Although, I don't think this means that all Christians have ulterior motives, but it does give you a window into how they might have been tricked into it.
Thanks for sharing. Very well put.

another tiny problem is that e and pi would have the same values in any universe, not just this one, since they're mathematical abstractions. e is obviously so, and pi is based in euclidian geometry, which is only an approximation to the geometry of the universe. and yeah, i know you're not serious :)
