People want things to be easy. Following Christ is not always easy. Therefore, people want to think that there are many ways to get to heaven, or that there is no heaven at all. If there is no heaven then there is not a hell and so they cannot possibly go there if it doesn't exist. People are scared because like I always say, "I'd rather be wrong in my beliefs and not know any better because my soul died with my body then to be wrong and find out because I'm being tortured in hell." They are afraid you might be right and therefore, they call you narrow minded.

It's not OK for Muslims or Jews or Mormons to say there's is the only truth. . The reason this view is considered 'narrow-minded'...well, think of the actual words. There are many different ideas/philosophies that exist regarding religion and your belief is that only one, out of who knows how many different ones there are, is the only one that's true-that works. You're 'narrowig' the possibilities of what is correct.
BTW, I'm going to assume you're not aware of the differences between 'pagan' religions that are polytheistic in nature-Wicca believes the multitude of Egyptian gods/goddesses are really just aspects of one god and one goddess. I'm sure anyone of the ancient Egyptian faith believes each god and goddess is a separate individual with his/her own powers not shared with any others. The ancient Greeks had Hera, the goddess of marriage but I don't believe the ancient Egyptians had anything like that.
A person of the 'pagan' religions might argue for their point of view but they don't completely dismiss other ideas. Buddhists believe all 'paths' are different ways to get to 'God', meaning the real truth.

Everyone has their own beliefs on what is accurate and true as far as religion goes....what might work for one person may not work for someone else but someone I noticed brought up a valid point...people do mock what they do not understand..in which case then everyone is narrow minded against others of different religions because they perceive their own to be the true and right way.
I fully believe that the true face of Divine is unknowable..and that when we pass on from this earth each of us will meet our Creator/tress according to our beliefs...for me as a Wiccan, I believe in the Summerland...the Wiccan version of the Christian Heaven...
Divine (speaking from a Minister's point of view here), speaks to us individually in our hearts and our spirits..Many Blessings!

Narrow minded is following one straight path as if it were absolute fact without even considering the possibility someone else walks a path that could be just as valid. This is true regardless of which religion you follow, not just as a Christian.

I have hope people are not as stupid as they seem. No one however, ever wants to be wrong. People can see the errors in their beliefs but will never admit to them. So they put down anyone who publically speak the truth of their errors.
Clearly Christianity has been here since earth began, not just since Jesus came in human form. Since there a many false forms of Christianity, it is easier to assume all of it is false. Care must be used to find the correct one that God approves.

Well, the only way that you wouldn't be narrow minding is if you could accurately describe the complete belief system of every other religion ever. If you can't do this, then you are claiming Christianity is the only true religion, without even knowing what the other religions claim. thus you are narrow minded. This is true for all religions that think they are the only true one.

It's all down to language.
The way you say it causes offence to others. Some may be so narrow minded to not accept it even if you changed the way you present it.
When you say 'It's the only true religion', you are presenting it as fact and not bearing in mind that others do not believe this.
If you said 'In my own view (I do not expect anyone to share it), It's the only true religion' you are then presenting your beliefs AS your beliefs, and therefore respecting all others.

Because your religion tells you not to examine it objectively. How do you know that your way is the only truth? Have you objectively examined all other religions in existence? Past and present? I doubt it. Any other religion making similar claims is just as narrow minded as you would be.

First of all Christianity is not a religion, it comes from many different religions. It just means you believe in Christ as the true messiah.List: Catholics, Baptists, Methodists etc. Catholics believe their religion is the only true religion because Christ himself created it, yet he himself was a Jew, that in itself tells you that there is no one true religion.

Realize that the Christians (at least that I can think of) are the only people who are looked down upon. Today's standards are of acceptance, like how it's "ok" to be homosexual, yet it's not really "ok" to believe in a one true God.
God bless

Us Christians have to stick together on these boards. In my opinion, no one really pays attention to us, just glance at our answers and give us a down.
