A guy you met online? Do you know how he looks like? Do you know he's not really a fifty year old man who is just preying on young girls like you? What do you like about him? If it's because of the way he talks to you (flirtatiously or charmingly, I personally have no idea) or his (or maybe not his) display picture?
Decide for your own safety before doing anything you regret or wasteful. An online relationship is normally one which does not last long. It's most probably infatuation or attraction to one's charisma.

Depends on how long you have been talking to him. If you are comfortable with him & have been IM or chatting. Then maybe you ought to start talking on the phone. That is the next step.
Trust me, talk on the phone before doing anything else. Do not meet him until you have spoken enough times to know this dude is real & is not playing games. Be safe, not sorry.

I'm sorry, I would never trust someone you've met online. There's a good chance he's not who he says he is and could be danger. No offense but I wouldn't involved with someone you don't know outside of the computer.
