I just want to play music out loud instead of having to put everything up full blast to have everyone huddle under the headset. How can I make the sound play sans-headset too?

Buy computer speakers (not hi-fi ones, computer ones have a built in amplifier). You plug them into the audio out on your PC, often coloured green.

go into your control panel click on sounds and audio run the set up there also there is a option from headset to audio speakers if this doesn't correct it perhaps the sound on mother board is bad

Do you have speakers attached ? If not buy a pair of speakers (either battery or mains powered) and plug the jack plug into your computer. The socket will be pink coloured, or may be the one you plug your headphone in.
