I just got a quote from Allstate and it was pretty cheap plus they have that "if you get into an accident your rates dont go up" thing which is cool. I'd like to hear from some people who have Allstate

I've had All State for about 5 years. My initial rates were excellent, because they base them on your credit score. However, for no apparent reason, my rates go up with every renewal. When I call my agent, he says it's just the trend, but that doesn't make sense to me. As my car gets older, with other insurance companies my rates would go down. I don't like that my rates continue to go up, and no one can give me a good explanation as to why.

First of all if you want that feature that says if you get into an accident your rates wont go up you have to pay more for the policy. It is an option-not standard. Other than that, I have had Allstate for a while and they take my money without any problems. Now, if I have a claim I dont know how freely they will pay but I imagine they will be no worse than any other company looking to make money. I chose them because their rates were low. Made sense to me-maybe you should try them too.

I have gotten hit 3 times over many years going back to the 60's by drivers insured by Allstate. Collecting on the claims has been a hassle every time, even though their insured was clearly at fault (once my car was legally parked and I was in a store, and once was a drunk teen who crossed the center line and hit us headon - fortunately nobody was seriously injured, just relatively minor injuries. The third time their insured ran a red light and there were witnesses).

In my experience, Allstate claims service is not among the best in the insurance industry.
