From the wording of your question, I will venture to say that you are still in high school. I hate to be pessimistic, but I can't say that there is an overwhelming amount of evidence out there that is in support of you guys being together in the long run. I am 22 and was with my b/f since I was 16. I just recently found out of his infedility and it brought to the surface that many of the people around me have also dealt with the same type of situation. It's just that no one likes to talk about it.
When you are young and in love, you can be blinded by the harsh truth of the world. The truth is, a man who gets committed at a very young age will inevitably cheat; this is a fact that I would venture to say occurs in at least 95% of relationships, if not more. It's 2007, women are more premiscuous, therefore men have more choices. You must understand, though: if he does cheat, it is not due to anythign you did. Monogamy is a very hard thing for men, especially if they have only been in 1 serious relationship since a young age and are about to move away to college.

I'm sure there will be much rebuttle to my statements.... that is fine, I completely welcome optimism in love! I only wish it were more rampant in our society as we are consumers, not producers.

Sorry to be so harsh, but I truly wish someone would have told this to me before I put in 6 years with a seemingly perfect guy.... who I would have never guessed in a million years cheated. Good luck, sweetie!

Trust is essential for a good relationship. Long distance relationship is really difficult. If you don't trust your partner then it is better to go on your separate ways. Peace!

Getting engaged would (should) prevent this. Unless you make a commitment, the field is open.
