I am from Minnesota and think of myself as a super hot and fun girl but I hear people say we are hicks and have a bad accent.

Girl, wake up. People who are from Minnesota are generally very nice and personable. They have the warmth and morals of those from the Midwest. Don't worry about one or a few say about you. You know yourself better than they do. As to an accent, I never noticed much of one.

There is a Minnesota accent, its nice, I like it. Hicks? No way! I think people in Minnesota are well educated, that they have good values, that they are friendly and open, I like all the Minnesotans I have met. Its a beautiful state, too.

People that think Minnesota are hicks haven't been to West Virginia or Kentucky. Ohio would like to replace West Virginia and Kentucky with Minnesota, and I like your accent.

I've always thought of them as nice but seem kind of dumb b/c they way they speak. But if they are anything like you they seem pretty shallow too; anyone who thinks they are "super hot" has to have a huge ego and is not a down to earth girl at all. and most people who think they are "super hot" or at least ones that say that usually are pretty broke and trying too hard to look good, so you might want to get someone else's HONEST opinion before you make that claim.

i have been to minnesota and stayed for a week. i found the people there to be very lovely, hospitable and very, very likable. would love to live there in the summer. would also like to go back. i found the countryside to be beautiful. i did not detect ant specific accent. but what do i know, i am from the south!!!

I have never felt that way...some of my favorite authors are from Minnesota..including John Sanford and Steve Thayer. So, you Rock girl!

You guys do have an accent.........but I am from south Louisiana and we have accents too. You are going to hear accents just about everywhere you go. Be who you are and be damn proud of it!!!!
