Here's another good one: Since his apparent absense is evidence against god existing, the logically following statement is that his obvious appearance would be evidence for....

You haven't defined ugliness. There isn't an ugly person about, we are all different that's what makes us unique. What do you consider ugly?
If chaos is evidence against God, then how about this, the whole world is in chaos right now. Where do you stand on that?

Many answerers are stating that ugliness/beauty is in the eye of the beholder or based on perception which is true. Therefore if beauty/ugliness is in the eye of the beholder, then beauty is no more proof of the existence of God than ugliness is.

The myth of religion is not that deep or well thought out. Anyone who analyzes the logical consequences will find flaws. It was designed to keep the simple masses in obedience, not to provide a perfect model to understand the universe. It's faults reveal much about its creation.

how is beauty existence of god? i've heard it all... that tree is pretty; therefore god exists. Do people actually believe that???
It's very convenient how christians give god all the credit for the good and leave him out of the bad... like the war going on right now. does god want all of our soldiers to die? does god want over 650,000 innocent Iraqis to be dead? I must be more compassionate than god at that point!!!

Because there is a God of love that created everything good, and there is a god of evil and ugliness which manifests himself in events as well as evil people.

god had to make the opposite of beauty, the opposite of order, the opposite of furtune so that all that is good could be truly seen and understood. otherwise, we wouldn't understand what beauty is, what order is, what fortune is. it has nothing to do with being against God.
